Great cd for jiving.......2004-06-30

All you jivers out there, this is the cd to get. For those who don't know what "jive" is. Jive is a style of "risque" dancing that was popular with teens, and greasers in the 1950's. It is a sort of modified, more energetic, yet cooler version of the 40's jitterbug. It is smoother then jitterbug, but just as energetic, and the steps are different. That being said, this cd can easily be danced to in jitterbug and lindy hop style too. The music ranges from late period swing, jump blues, r&b, boogie woogie, early rock'n'roll, rockabilly and rockin' blues.

Fun energetic and toe tappin' jive music.

This is the 3rd and last cd in Ace's exellent Jitterbug Jive series, which is all types of music that can be danced to. The cd covers early rock'n'roll, rockabilly, jump blues, r&b, blues and late period swing. The msuic all jives and bops, and is all uptempo and danceable. Very lively and fun music, that will liven up your next sock hop party!

Another great cd in Aces' Jiving Jamboree series.......2004-06-17

All three cd's in the series are worth acquiring, and thsi one has plaenty of honking and wailin' r&b saxes, jump blues singers, early rock'n'rollers, a few rockabilly's and even some late period swing. This music is great for swign dancing and is uptempo from the 1st to last track. Wild, fun and swing 50's r&b for a good time!

Let's Get Up An Dance.......2007-02-07

A good mix of rock-n-rollin' Boppin' Blues, Boogie Woogie, early dance music. All the disc in this set by ACE are very good, with good sound quality. If you're looking for hard core rock-a-billy these CDs are probably not for you. But, then again we all need to expand our musical horizons some, they are worth the money and lots of fun to listen to.

As the other reviewer said, it's freakin' spectacualr, but it's even better then that, it's the best rockin' swingin' blues cd compilation out there, the whole series(there's 3) is worth getting hold of before it goes out of print. These UK imports are essential for people who like to dance or just like early rock'n'roll, jump blues, rockabilly and swing, when they all were related to one another. Great stuff from the 40's-60's!
