the one album every "punk rocker" has owned at least 3 times in their lives.......2006-10-10

there is no way this album could ever be put out these days. definately had to come out in '84. I mean could you see any band doing aids jokes and getting away with it? well, the milkmen did. has anyone ever noticed the references to f.o.d? "my parents said if i eat all my food then i can go to hardcore show and see f.o.d."-nutrtion. there's another reference to them on a live recording of "milkmen stomp". just curious.

Best album from one of the best bands.......2006-06-10

Day-OM! This rekkid ought to be thought of as a classic, it has Laundromat Song, Bitchin' Camaro, Violent School, Nutrition, Dean's Dream, almost every track is freaking awesome and its 23 tracks long! If you don't have this album, well, you suck.

This is the best crappy little punk band ever... This record is just one that you can't get sick of. Great music for anything! "I don't wanna go on the beach, NO FUN!!" Haha!

HANDS DOWN THE GREATEST ALBUM EVER!!.......2005-12-12

i first bought this album on tape. i am now on my 3rd copy on cd and also have it on vinyl. every song is amazing, however "serrated edge" shines above every other song on the album, as well as every song ever recorded by any artist EVER!!

all the other reviews here, describing the milkmen as "funny" make them sound like they are a novelty act, but their so much more.

Greatest Album of All Time.......2005-04-03

Big Lizard In My Backyard was a step forward in Punk Rock. The Dead Milkmen's Lyrics are the funniest things I have ever heard, and the music is beautiful. Songs such as Bitchin' Camaro and Beach Song are about feelings many people can relate to. Songs like Big Lizard, Dean's Dream and Tugena really sound amazing. This CD could change your life.

ABOUT A MONTH OR SO AGO, I HEARD HOWARD STERN TALKING ABOUT SHAWN KING ON HIS RADIO SHOW. HE SAID THAT SHAWN KING IS THE REAL THING AND NEEDS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. HIS REMARKS STUCK WITH ME, AND WHEN I FINALLY GOT THE CHANCE TO FIND THE CD, I BOUGHT IT OUT OF CURIOSITY. MY WIFE AND I CAN'T SOP PLAYING IT. I LOVE THE MELODIES AND CHORD PROGRESSIONS AND SHAWN'S SOULFUL DELIVERY. MY WIFE AND I ARE NEWLY MARRIED, AND SHE HAS GONE THROUGH SOME TOUGH TIMES IN HER LIFE. SHE TOLD ME SHE FEELS LIKE THE WHOLE CD WAS MADE JUST FOR HER. WE'VE SEEN SHAWN KING ON A NUMBER OF SHOWS, AND WE'VE REALLY ENJOYED HEARING ABOUT HER EXTREMELY UNUSUAL LIFE. SHE AND HER HUSBAND ARE A GOOD TEAM...THEY'RE FUNNY TOGETHER. BUT THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A CD REVIEW, NOT A CAREER REVIEW, SO LET ME PUT IT SIMPLY...SHWN KING ROCKS!

How Sweet it is! .......2005-12-28

Got the CD after seeing her on Dr. Phil; Better than I could have expected. A great CD for when you want to just kick back and enjoy country the way it was meant to be. My favorite was "This Room." Hope she's got another CD in the works; can't come out soon enough for me.

Mike Lee is not only a great musician, but a great person. His compositions are fantastic, and even if you don't like jazz, you will like his music. He is a virtuoso on his instrument, a genious with pen and paper, and besides all that, you couldn't meet a nicer guy. So give him some support. Check this disc out.

Truth, beuaty and humor portrayed through great music style........1998-07-06

Every song on this (and all Mose's albums) is a revelation. As a longtime Mose fan, I can say this selection has three absolute gems. "Was" is in my opinion the best love song ever written in any musical form. "You Call it Joggin" is classic Mose--brutally honest to the point of deep down laughter. And "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" made me look in the mirror with newfound insight. As always, Mose enlightens and entertains.
