Boston Game, a jazz quartet that plays the local Boston scene first mentioned the Howard Fishman Quartet during one of their sets. A week later I heard the Howard Fishman Quartet CD playing at Cambridge, 1, in Cambridge, MA. I was converted.

Howard's Got Game.......2002-05-02

I first heard Howard Fishman last May 11 at Cambridge, 1 - a dive music & burgers joint on Church St. just above Harvard Sq. in Cambridge, MA. The place is an eclectic mix of students, preppies, and locals - just like HFQ, it's an old friend you relax with at the end of a long day.

Fishman blends Nawlins scootin' music with a flair of swing, with a dash of soul to keep things honest -- a capping element to any serious jazz quartet lover's Game.

Perfect Christmas Party Music!.......1999-11-22

Wow - this is fun Christmas music! I bought this because of the other CD, "A Celebration of the American Farm" (which we LOVE). Listening to this is like stepping into a Christmas party at a community music hall back in the '30s. It is mostly acoustic swing, which is a blast, but also has a ballad called "In A Christmas Dream" which I just can't get out of my head! It's got to become a classic. This record is pure Christmas nostalgia - one we will listen to every year. Great for playing while doing other "Christmas Stuff".
