Kidz Bop, Vol. 7
Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
The Bop is back, and as pop music gets brighter and more interesting, so does this series. The 18 tracks that make the cut this time do the usual genre swing, sailing effortlessly through the melodic fluff of "Accidentally in Love" and "Beautiful Soul" and then on to a second-grade shout-out to hip-hop and R&B via "My Boo" and "Let's Get it Started." In a misstep, rock gets the treatment courtesy of "1985" which, though an excellent song, might get lost on this crowd lyrically (for them, 1985 might as well be 1952). Largely, though, this batch of booty shakers for the rolling backpack set is fresh enough to give the old-school stuff that rounded out previous installations the appearance of filler. And where 6 relied on dance remixes to reach its sweaty apex, 7 dares you to move, as one of its songs goes, to genuine hits only. --Tammy La Gorce

Yes, it may be for small children..........2007-07-04
I see some reviews stating: "Oh, but it's for KIDS!" Yes, that may be. But, the original versions of the songs were not made for children. So why make a crappy, new version of it, sung by underdeveloped Sunday School choir voices?
I mean, seriously! It's almost mocking those songs. Most of the songs [correct me if I'm wrong] weren't even that "dirty" in the first place! If you want children's music, buy them ORIGINAL CHILDREN'S MUSIC. These CD's are garbage, IMO.[also many others]
A mockery.
Great for the Younger Kids.......2007-05-14
I'm actually surprised by all of the negative reviews on here! I think someone forgot to mention that the Kidz Bop series is for younger children--not teens, not adults, and definitely not those who feel the need to complain about EVERYTHING. My 5 1/2-year-old daughter loves these CDs, and #7 is another welcome addition to her musical library. I would much rather have her listen to these kid-friendly versions of popular songs than some of the regular versions--which contain profanities and sexual innuendos she doesn't need to hear. This is a great CD for parents to get younger children, who like pop music on the radio but don't need all the extras.

They ruined my favorite song! They made it in to a choir song!Breakaway is my favorite song and they ruined it! Boycott Kidz Bop! A lot of other people's favorite songs were too! They suck! They ruin peoples songs! I feel bad for the artists being insulted like that! Boycott Kidz Bop!
Crappy songs only made worse.......2007-02-13
Hey, you there! Like what you hear on the radio? Don't feel like getting any of the Now That's What I Call Music compilations? Want to replace the vocals with kids screaming? Well, we've got just the plan! It's the Kidz Bop series! It attracts youngsters because of the intentionally added Z, AND IT'S TILTED! It's too cool to conform with the group, it's a rebel!
I don't see how taking out vocals of popular songs, and replacing with screaming brats and some older person who sounds nothing like the actual singer attracts anyone. If you want to have your children grow up on the Top 40, so be it. But please, for the love of god, HAVE THEM LISTEN TO THE ACTUAL SONG!! I was against Kidz Bop from the start, and I've only gotten more and more angry at it (because it's gone out of hand). Convince your friends, family, people you know, people you don't know very well, complete strangers, anyone, not to buy any Kidz Bop product.
What is the problem?.......2006-09-05
I don't understand all the negative reviews on the Kidz Bop series. These musical offerings are not for adults, teens, or even pre-teens. I don't listen to this CD because I like it, I listen to it because our 5 and 6 year old girls LOVE them. To them it's too cool to hear a song they've heard on the radio being sung with, if you will, a kids choir, in the background. To them, some of their favorite pop songs have gotten a re-mix where kids get to sing along with the real star and for that it's all the more interesting to them. As a parent, I appreciate the fact that the language is cleaned up on certain tracks. I'd much rather my daughters listen to Pink and Avril on the Kidz Bop CDs because I certainly wouldn't buy them the actual albums with the language.
And, one other point, driving on the road trips with these CDs playing is much more tolerable for the adults then having to listen to Barney or the Wiggles the whole time.
