Kidz Bop, Vol. 6
Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
Just when you thought it was safe to stop humming "So Yesterday" from Kidz Bop 5, up crops Kidz Bop 6 with a fresh batch of fizzy brain Velcro. Recommendations in this 18-track bonanza include "This Love," "Come Clean," and the impossible-to-screw up "Are You Gonna Be My Girl?" For adult sanity's sake, skip over "Me, Myself & I" and the big bummer that is "Hold On" and move directly ahead to three dance remixes tacked to the end. Take them as a sign that the Bop gang has run out of serviceable hits, or that "Sk8ter Boi's" staying power is scarier than parents previously imagined. --Tammy La Gorce

Generation Gap.......2007-02-15
Parents thinking their kids' music is crap has been going on since the dawn of time. My grandmother rolled her eyes at my mother listening to The Beatles, my mother rolled her eyes at 80's music, and I can roll my eyes at Kidz Bop. But I'll still buy it for them, if that's what they like. I respect my kids & want them to have a culture of their own, whether I like it or not. Just like my generation smiles remembering The Smurfs ... these kids will one day say "Remember Kidz Bop? I loved those CDs!!" Now my kids know everything from The Beatles to The Eagles to Culture Club to Corinne Bailey Rae... I'm not saying I don't expose them to what *I* think is good. But I won't deny them their day either. I rated this CD with one star, sure I think it's crap. But pop culture is what it is. Parents need to grow up and let kids be kids.
RUN FOR YOUR SWEET LIVES!!! MUSIC'S FOUNDATION IS BURNING!!!.......2006-08-16
Kidz Bop stinks. I will now explain the many steps the Razor & Tie executives took to achieve complete and total suckification:
1. Get a bunch of 8 1/2 year-olds and give them 3,000 shots of helium, and then kick them in "that place". This is how the voice pitch is achieved.
2. Then, get about 9 or 10 "American Idol" rejects and pay them a million dollars so they'll agree to do this project.
3. Come up with 12-15 popular songs and ways to butcher their artistic integrity.
4. Find some 11-year-old with PhotoShop to make the cover art. Remember, the bigger "KIDZ BOP" is, the better!
5. Market your CD with never-ending commercials, chock-full of kids that didn't even sing the songs and probably will never be seen in the acting world again, "But THAT'S NOT ALL!"s, and demands for COD/debit card payments.
And voila! You have the typical Kidz Bop CD!
Groundbreaking sound.......2006-07-18
Ever since I bought this CD it has been on constant repeat in my car. Since I am a 45-year-old single male with no children, I know good music when I hear it, and believe me, this is good music. The album kicks off with the rocker's ballad "With You," which reflects on the struggle of growing up in poverty, and entertains down to the last second of the dance remix of "Sk8er Boi," which is of course the heartwarming story of a teenage boy's rehabilitation from drugs. This CD is a must-have for any music fan or anybody who has the ability to hear.
Selling out to children. .......2006-06-30
This cd is a disgrace to all music worldwide, infact, i think id much rather stay up for a week straight and listen to my dog bark. Why would anyone buy this you ask? To find the answer you must first understand the steps of making this "album".
1. Find all the most sold out, popular artists.
2. Go to a preschool full of children who just ate 5mg of Oxycontin and 2 cups of sugar, and select the loudest, most annoying ones.
3. Go to your rich uncles house and beg for 5 million dollars to bribe all of the sold out artists, and a low-sales record company. (plus another $10,000 to settle court costs, after a kid becomes deaf to this "album")
4. Make the record and hope for the best, which won't happen.
Now that everyone understands the steps of making this "album" i can explain why someone would buy this.
Stupid advertising: Whenever a new kidsbop album comes out, the commercials are shown VERY OFTEN. Which pretty much hypnotizes everyone into thinking that it is a "great deal" and they have to buy it. Not only that, but after hearing constant repitions of the songs on the radio, people think this is just a mix of certain songs, not terrible remakes of them.
i don't think i need to go on any longer, i think i have made my point.
Sorry to see .......2006-04-02
so many people calling these kids retarded (most spelled it incorrectly too)among other things. Considering that this is a cd mixed for kids I am assuming that alot of the reviews are written by parents. I am embarrassed for you all and would hope that you aren't raising your kids to treat others this way. My son loves the cds and its better than him listening to the top 40 on the radio. I don't think the intent was to "butcher" (as some have stated) the music. It wasn't created for adults. quite honestly its better than some of the singing I have heard on the radio.
