Sailor Moon And The Scouts: Lunarock (Anime Series) [Soundtrack]

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
The main complaint with the first Sailor Moon CD was that it lacked any Japanese music. The eight songs on Lunarock include two from Japan: "Moonlight Densetsu," the original Japanese opening theme song, and "Ai No Senshi" from Sailor Moon R. There is also a new scoring of the Beatles classic "I Want to Hold Your Hand," as Sailor Moon's pledge to Tuxedo Mask. Of the five original American tunes, Sailor Moon (Jennifer Cihi) has another single, her peppy battle theme "The Power of Love" (one of the program's best). Two other singles are Sailor Jupiter's "Daddy's Girl" (a gentle lament about growing up) and Sailor Mars's comforting "Nothing at All." The final two are the three Sailor Scouts' yeah-yeah trio about boys, "I Want Someone to Love," and Sailor Moon and Mars's musical spat, "Who Do You Think You Are?" This second effort is at least as good as the first Sailor Moon CD, maybe even better. --Fred Patten

3 out of 5 stars Erm... Well..........2006-01-12

This CD wasn't as bad as the first American release one, but it isn't anywhere near as good as the "Super Best" collection, or the other original Japanese releases. Some songs on this CD are pretty good, and others are pretty bad. "Ai no Senshi" is my favorite on this CD, though I don't absolutely loathe all the others.
In short, this'll appeal to those who were big fans of the dub, and like American styled pop, and the really really shoujo (girl's) theme of this CD, what with it being about love and boys. Of course, the people who loathed the dub would be much much better off getting "Super Best" collections, or another Japanese collection. It's kind of a mixed bag here.

Pros:
-If you liked the English dub of Sailor Moon, and liked the English songs they made to go with it, you'll adore this CD
-Fans of pop songs that are about love, boys, and friends will enjoy this CD.

Cons:
-People who preferred the Japanese Version probably won't enjoy this one as much

1 out of 5 stars Sure it is..........2005-12-18

Music from Sailor Moon should come from the TV Series or the Movies....

This is an American rip-off and not material from the series other than the two titles..

A major disappoinment to anime fans...

4 out of 5 stars It was ok.......2005-08-13

Personally,I got this cd for the song "The Power of Love"and just for that song I loved it!However,if you're a true Sailor Moon fan,you also love the songs the original japanease songs "Moonlight Denetse" and "Ai no Senshi".I really don't listen to anything else however, but it still a good cd!!

5 out of 5 stars Less cheesy than the first album..........2005-08-13

"I Want Someone to Love" really grew on me. I loved the hard beats and you can tell the singer took this song seriously and did a great a job on it. Power of Love sorta got tired soon...but I'm sure many of you will agree Moonlight Densetsu and Ai no Senshi are the main highlights of this cd. A nice collection to your sailormoon english and japanese cds!

3 out of 5 stars Heard Better.......2005-03-01

I've been into Sailor Moon since I was 3 or 4, and I still am. But I have to say, this wasn't at all as good as I thought it'd be. The only English song I liked was "Power of Love", and even that got pretty boring. The Japanese songs were the only ones that I truly liked. I might think differently if I had the "Full Moon" CD, but I'm not sure. I can say this though: Don't waste your money. Listen to the clips they have than buy it.
