Jewish Holiday Songs for Children
Editorial Reviews
From Parents' Choice®
Rachel Buchman is a remarkably warm and engaging vocalist. Not only does she sing songs in Yiddish and English but she also has a wonderful way of explaining their meaning and the holidays they deal with. Buchman even includes dances and games to keep the interest level high. Finally, children help in the sing-alongs, hooking listeners quickly to the tape's themes and ideas.

Now I get it!!!.......2002-12-18
I have never really enjoyed listening to "Jewish" music until this recording! What a fun romp through the holidays, simply the best sounding and most playable music I've heard in years. These people can really play, and the lyrics are easy and memorable. But it is the catchy tunes I find myself humming, and my kids always want to hear Sing Shalom, all the year through! I highly recommend this CD, especially for interfaith or sorta-faith families. Makes us want more from the Allards!

Customer Reviews:
real music, melody and fun.......2006-12-08
I second everything the first reviewer wrote. Rachel Buchman's voice is lovely and her tone is very appealing to young children. In addition, her music is of a high caliber, so that adults can actually enjoy listening to it (even if your child likes to listen again and again, as mine does). The Sukkah song is especially infectious; we sang it constantly last fall. The songs with Yiddish capture a special quality without seeming foreign; ideal for living room dancing, car entertainment, or pre-school enlightenment. We have purchased her "Song of Seasons" CD as well and listen periodically to both.
Your kids will love it..........2001-03-04
I bought this album for my son when he was three. He loved it, and still does (he is almost 6). He loved it so much I bought another copy and gave it to his pre-school teacher so his whole class could enjoy it. I have heard them singing a number of the songs with great enthusiasm. We have a lot of Jewish albums for kids (everything from Paul Zim to Uncle Moishy) each of which are good in their own way. But for very young children (ages 2-6) it is hard to beat Rachel Buchman.
