Addition to A music fan's review.......2003-12-07
And Abby, you can forget about the lyric. The lyricist, Lam Je (in cantonese) or Lin Xi (in mandarin), is a god of lyrics, and is a lyric machine. I think he writes at least 200 songs per year. But Pay Back's lyric is below average in my opinion, Red Bean's is much better.
And to everyone,
People, ya have to know that we (people in HK or TW) don't have much leisure activities, at weekends we go to Karaoke. So, the purpose of the third song is to SING ALONG. :)

Let Me Tell You A Story..........2003-09-14
In January of this year (2003) we became closer, and became romantically involved. We were very happy, making plans to meet someday, and we stayed up late talking to one another. One night, I was just so happy, I started listening to "Eyes on Me," one of my favorite songs. For some reason, I began typing randoms lyrics from it to this girl, and she wondered what I was doing. I told her they were lines from a song, and she said they sounded very sweet.
A week later, Valentine's Day was approaching, and I created a mixed CD of love songs from video games to send her, one of which was "Eyes on Me." After another week, she told me she was listening to it, but had to go to a party, so didn't get through it all until later, when I was talking to her as she listened to it. When "Eyes on Me" began playing (the first time she ever heard it) she began crying because the song was so beautiful. The CD became her favorite that she owned, and the song became one of her favorite songs.
Months later, we finally met from across the country, and spent all our time together, as we had but two weeks. One night, she turned on the CD, just for us to listen to as we talked. I heard "Eyes on Me" playing as I fell asleep, and she began crying because she was so happy. The next time, I told her to set the player up to play "Eyes on Me," and after she did, I took her hands and we began slow-dancing in the middle of her room. "Was it real or just my fantasy?" We were in a dream, and the song pulled everything together for us. Tears began to fill my eyes as I stared at her face, listening to Faye Wong's voice professing secret and sacred love for another, and we both laughed when the line came "Share with me your love, if you have enough, your tears if you're holding back." We finished dancing as the song did, and ended it with a kiss.
The night before we had to separate once more, we played the CD once more, and heard "Eyes on Me" as we fell asleep together.
Faye Wong's beautiful singing, the wonderful lyrics, the stirring flute, and the managery of other things that add to the atmosphere of "Eyes on Me," make it a piece that will stay in the hearts of those who listen to it for the longest time. It will hold a special place in my heart for many years to come...

Simply Beautiful.......2003-06-07
1. Eyes on Me: In my review of Final Fantasy VIII's soundtrack, I said that this song wasn't my favorite, and although, it's not my favorite song that is sung, in the Final Fantasy series, I have learned to like it more, after getting this. When I don't think of it with Final Fantasy VIII, I like it better. It is very beautiful, and Faye's english is very good in it. I must say, she has impressed me.
2. Red Bean: I did'nt listen to this song right away, cause I didn't know what to except, but it's amazing. Probably the best song on this single cd. Although, it's not performed in english, it's very beautiful, and probably sounds so good, cause it's not in english.
3. Eyes on Me (Instrumental): A beautiful piece, but a little disappointing. I was hoping this would be as beautiful as the normal version, but it just doesn't capture the magic as well. Still, it's great, because of it's simple beauty.
If you like Eyes on Me in FF8, you'll love this single. I would also suggest, the FFX single "Isn't it Wonderful?" by Rikki, for those who like this.
