Play It Again / Favorite Songs

Editorial Reviews
From Parents' Choice®
Why won't Charlene Skunk set the table? Her parents are at their wits' end, and Skunk Town's chief of police is stumped. It takes the wise king of the skunks to find the answer in "You're Not the Boss of Me," the one new yarn in this collection of otherwise past family favorites by Bill Harley. This canny troubadour-storyteller, songwriter and National Public Radio humorist-tunefully nails the realities of childhood (and parenthood) in keen-eyed and comic tales and tunes such as "Cool in School," "Dad Threw the TV Out the Window," and "50 Ways to Fool Your Mother." A great way to introduce Harley to new listeners. A 2000 Parents' Choice® Gold Award.

5 out of 5 stars The BEST artist for kids (and adults)..........2006-08-02

We discovered Bill Harley when my son (now 17) was 2 years old and we bought a cassette tape (yes a cassette) of Monsters in the Bathroom> We wore the tape out and have been to many of his concerts for both kids and adults. When my youngest was 2 we bought this CD for her as she loves music. We have listened to it more than I can count. It is infectious and we all love the songs. My oldest even still says - Let's listen to BILL. This is my favorite song CD as it has a few songs with nice lessons and a few just fun songs. ENJOY and THANKS BILL

5 out of 5 stars We Love Bill!!!.......2006-07-23

Our family has almost every one of Bill Harley's tapes/CD's/books and we absolutely love him!! Our oldest son, who is now 14, started out listening to Bill's tapes, then his little brother joined in. Now the boys have a sister, and the oldest brother said we needed to update our cassettes and get Bill's CD's because his sister needed to be "brought up" on Bill Harley too. It takes alot to make my husband laugh, and even HE laughs out loud at the stories and songs!! You CANNOT go wrong with Bill Harley!

5 out of 5 stars A Favorite.......2006-01-03

Bill Harley is one of our 2 favorite childrens musicians (and we're picky). Our litmus test is that the parents have to enjoy the songs as much as our children, and this CD more than passes. Our other fav is Joanne Hammil (Pizza Boogie & World's Gonna Listen).

5 out of 5 stars My Daughter can't get enough.......2003-11-25

We had the pleasure if hearing Bill tell stories. My daughter is a bit young for that, so I purchased this CD. Big Big World has got to be her favorite. We could go a whole car trip listening to that one song. (Usually thought I can talk her out of it) Her next favorites are "Sitting down to eat "and" Moon and I." Dad's favorites are "Cool in School" (I like to harmonize with it) "Dad Threw The TV Out The Window" (not that I ever would do that, but there are funny, funny lyrics) and "There Goes My Brother Again" (again, funny, funny, lyrics)

As a parent this is a wonderful album that I can listen to with my kids, and it doesn't get old or annoying.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Kid's CD!.......2002-12-04

I 1st heard Bill Harley on NPR and knew that my quest for a decent children's CD was over. I've bought several before and usually liked maybe 3 songs (like Bob Dylan singing "This Old Man") and ended up selling them on Ebay or here on Amazon.

There's only one song I don't care for, it's too long and annoying, with a refrain "you're not the boss of me". Just what I don't want my kid to learn but I can't even help myself but repeat the words it's so catchy.

I'm going to buy more from Bill, you can bet on it. My 2 yr. old & I will be dancing around the room together and singing along with it.
