I love watching Veggie Tales and singing the silly songs almost as much as my son! We each have our favorite songs that we get to sing to in the car. If you love Veggie Tales silly songs, you will thoroughly enjoy this CD.

Not just for little kids!.......2007-03-05

My kids got this CD as a gift, but I have to admit that I love it at least as much as they do, and sing right along with it all the time. In fact, I'm now buying it for my 44-year old sister and her 15- and 16-year old kids - at their insistence! Very, very funny lyrics, with great music that you will carry in your head all day, whether you want to or not! On another note, I'm not Christian, and was concerned that this CD might not be appropriate for my kids for that reason, but it's not religious at all (we usually just skip the one cute, non-religious Santa song). Highly recommend this CD!

Can't Listen Enough.......2007-02-15

This CD is AMAZING!! I am a lover of veggie tales and this CD had all my favorites!

For Christians and Non-Christians, the one to get, except...........2007-02-04

sigh, 'The Bunny Song' is on the other compilaiton (which is my mind is not as good as this one.) I'm not a Christian, but I did grow up going to Sunday School where we watched many of the Veggie Tale films. This is a good group of songs for toddlerrs/little kids/ or teens and adults wishing to have simple songs stuck in their head all day. For Christians the songs are a good reminder for the kids throughout the week, and for non-christians wishing to expand their collection without being "preached" at throughout the cd, this is a nice collection.

The worst part of this CD is that all the songs sound the same: similar arrangements with the same girl's chorus mostly drowned out by the music. Annoying to some (like me) are the Christian messages grafted onto traditional songs: "Finger, nose, and toes all work for Jesus." Please. Not sure where we picked it up, but it was a mistake.

What a great CD! We love this and I gotta say, what great memories it brings back to me of my parents singing "Does your chewing gum lose it's flavor?" HILARIOUS! Great songs for great no TV time! Don't let the purple people eater get you!

This is a GREAT album! It's a must-buy! I laughed and laughed. If you want to get your kids to take a bath, turn on the song "The Good News Is....you're gonna take a bath," and that will get them going! It's a rock-and-roll ditty which will make your kids' daily bathing ritual a lot more fun! I highly recommend this very cute album. As usual, it's Disney and it's first rate!

This is packed with great songs. Maybe it's just the memories we have singing along with these for the past few years, but this has definitely been the favorite thing to pop in the car or stereo at home for my daughters. We wore the tape out completely, so I was very happy to find it here on CD.

More silly songs.......2000-09-21

This tape is great. We keep it in the van and my four children (age 4-13) listen (and sing loudly) to it regularly as we are driving down the road. Little Red Riding Hood is very cleverly done, and Sunny Sunny Day is wonderful. Most songs are sing-a-long songs, with only one or two that we really don't like.

Great catchy songs with super lyrics.......2005-08-20

These songs are, like the best of Sesame Street, funny for kids and fun for adults too. There are a variety of musical styles, from Polka ("Transylvania Polka") to Andrews-sisters Boogie ("Boogie Woogie Piggies") to Waltz ("Batty Bat"). My 4 year old loves hearing "There's a Hole in the Bottom of the Sea" sung by a harried Grover, and he also loves the bird sounds on "This Song is for the Birds" - sung with an East Coast accent. My 6 and 9 year olds still enjoy "Captain Vegetable" which is in the style of an old-time TV show about superheroes. I think my favorite is "Monster in the Mirror", which has a bass line that reminds me of the Munsters, and talks about how kids shouldn't be afraid of seeing their reflection in the mirror.

You will find yourself singing all these songs to yourself!

Sesame Street's "Silly Songs" Rocks!.......2004-11-18

Sesame Street's Silly Songs CD opens with Ernie and friends singing "The Honker-Duckie-Dinger Jamboree" and ends with Grover singing "Monster In The Mirror." In between, you hear "The Batty Bat," "I'm Proud To Be A Cow," "Love in the Junkyard," plus ten other entertaining songs for children of all ages. Older kids will enjoy singing along with their favorite Sesame Street characters from the television show and movies. Both my one-year old son and I have been entertained for hours listening to this CD. He loves the funny sounds. "Oh, Look What Our Baby Can Do" has many realistic baby noises, mostly centered on the process of expelling gas from either end of the baby. I like the catchy tunes and educational messages. "The Boogie-Woogie Piggies" teaches kids their ABCs to a swinging boogie-woogie beat. In addition, "Captain Vegetable" encourages kids to eat their veggies, and "Keep The Park Clean For The Pigeons" teaches kids to use trashcans, or even their pockets, to discard trash. This CD is a ton of fun and comes highly recommended by our family.

Captain vegetable encourages kids to eat more vegetables. Just teach them the words and watch what happens when you give them carrots and celery...totally magic. Sing the song to them and watch them complete the verses while they eat healthy vegetables. Bravo sesame street and captain vegetable!

What a great way to keep kids humming during an 8-hour car trip! And the songs are clever enough to involve adults, too. My personal favorite is "Monster in the Mirror."

Very funny and only slightly educational!.......1999-04-15

Sample lyric from "I'm Proud To Be a Cow", written in the style of an old English music hall number: I'm proud to have an udder/ like my father / No - my mother. I think this is very funny, even after my two year old (who certainly doesn't get the joke) asks to here the "Cow Song" for the tenth time in one afternoon. Like all of the best Sesame Street humor, these songs work on two levels -- one for little kids, and one for their parents.

Silly Songs is a great set of goofball hits guaranteed to paste grins on 4-year-old faces. Never mind that the songs are not originals and that (outside of the few that include Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy), you've never heard of the singers crooning them. Incredible Fun and Great Lessons!.......2004-06-17

As a teacher and educator, I have variety of children's music. These are by far some of the best CD's I have found in a long time. I use it for children of the very young up to Kindergarten and even 1st grade. Children love to be involved and actively engaged. The music is a collaboration of children and adults singing. It has even taken those treasures of long ago, provided a beat that is honestly contagious! As a mother of two older teens and an adult- this would have been a favorite in our house, that I am sure of!

This is one treasure that regardless of whether you are a parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle, teacher, substitute or caregiver - IT IS A MUST HAVE !!! It will be loved forever!

Lets face it my kid does not get into music. He does The Wheels on the Bus but thats it. He will sometimes dance to this but not really. I shouldn't have wasted my money.

Good fun music.......2001-02-18

We bought this cd set because we were looking for some kid's songs for our 18 month-old son, Noah. He gets to hear kid's songs at school and we wanted him to be able to listen to different versions of the same songs at home. He loves all three CDs.

Before dinner is Noah's playtime and he loves us to put these songs on while he is playing with his cars. Sometimes he dances around to the songs. All three of the CDs in this collection are available separately, but the collection is really an outstanding value.

I am picky about music (okay, I'm a music snob) and I can actually listen to these tunes without wincing. (Well, most of them anyway.) That says a lot coming from a person who will not let them play Kenny G at daycare for fear of permanent damage to my son's musicality.

Is it great music, or great performances? No, but then again it does not need to be, it just needs to *not* be Barney. If you're looking to educate your child about music, get something else. If you're looking for background music to put on when your child is playing, this is a good choice.
