Street Carols-December Voices.......2002-11-06

I picked this CD up on a whim at a bookstore several years ago and it has become our favorite at Christmas time. Between this one and their first one, I think that this one is better. However, they are both wonderful. If you are looking for something that is different, something with heart, something that is Christmas"y" without just going over TOO familiar of songs, then this album is for you. I have never heard this play on the radio, or in a store, or in a movie. It is unfortunate. In my opinion, it is an undiscovered gem.

The CD the other reviewer mentioned which included Little Red Shoes by Jerry Butler is "Street Carols", issued a few years before this CD. He is right though, it is an excellent CD - and mostly accapella. That is why I sought out the second CD!

Great winter doo-wop soul.......1999-02-13

this is a great collection of artists singing both humourous and serious Christmas tunes. The original song of "Little Red Shoes" is the very best written song I have ever heard in my life. And Mr. Butler seems to sound better with every listen.

I am an Alley Cats fan. Having seen them in concert and enjoying their other CD's I was very dissapointed in this effort. Not everyone can do Christmas, and sadly this appears to be the case here. Make another choice if your looking for a cappella Christmas music.

This is NOT THE ALLEY CATS! Please do not buy this CD. The label got some guys with no harmony and called them The Alley Cats. This is pathetic and the record label should be ashamed of themselves. If you want to hear the real Alley Cats buy of the their 3 CDs, which are all amazing!
