Bill Shontz - Teddy Bear's Greatest Hits
Editorial Reviews
From Parents' Choice®
Here's the first album to rival Kevin Roth's 1986 collection of fuzzy favorites: Unbearable Bears. Not to worry, however...there are only two duplicates among the songs: "Teddy Bear's Picnic," and that old Elvis favorite, "(Oh Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear." The eleven cuts include a smattering of other comfortably well-loved lyrics: "Bare Necessities," and the "House at Pooh Corner." In addition, there are some delightful originals: "Miranda the Panda" (who discovers how to create "pandemonium") and the perplexing riddle of the "Invisible Bear." Bill Shontz regularly performs live, and it shows in his polished, effortless recording style. He is an accomplished songwriter as well, carefully crafting the back-ups for each cut to reflect the dynamics of the song itself. Whether children recognize this or not, they will respond with hand-clapping, toe-tapping, unem-BEAR-essed delight. A 1998 Parents' Choice® Gold Award.Reviewed by Kristi Beavin, Parents' Choice® 1998

This recording is great if you want to have fun with your kids. I use this recording whenever I do a teddybear theme in my classroom. The kids especially like to dance with their bears with the song ME AND MY TEDDYBEAR. I also play TEDDY BEAR'S PICNIC before we go outside and have a real picnic with our bears.
