I once heard a pastor say of this denomination, "This is a hand clappin', foot stompin', tongue speakin', Pentecostal, Church of God in Christ!"

This CD captures that heritage in a modern idiom with several cuts featuring a solid beat with an overlay of plush musical melodies and tight choral harmonies.

The title cut is mid-tempo but still high-powered.

My favorite is "Right Now God" which lets listeners know that God is movin' (in our lives) RIGHT NOW in a call-and-response style!

"I Won't Turn Back" uses familiar lyrics from older hymns to tie in with the song's hook and its slick fast-paced beat.

A reminder of testimony and praise services is found in "So Many Wonderful Things" - a throwback to a time when people testified about the GREAT things God has done for them. It reminds me of the old time preachers and church mothers...a time before today's praise teams when the congregation was more involved in the service-before-worship-service.

"Let Everything That Hath Breath" is anthemic and majestic, but the ending with Mattie Moss-Clark is somewhat sad with her sounding quite feeble. The liner notes indicated that she passed away a couple of months after the recording had taken place.

I remember wanting to go to the convention that produced this CD, and after hearing it the first time a few years ago I wish I had been able to go! The music on "He'll Bring You Out" is timeless; there are songs here that state choirs sing at various state conventions and programs.

      I BOUGHT THIS CD WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. IM 25 YEARS OLD KNOW. AS USUAL THE CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST LIVES UP TO THERE REPUTATION. THEY ARE KNOW FOR TIGHT GOSPEL MUSIC. ALL THE TRACKS ARE AWESOME.THE CD FEATURES WALTER HAWKINS. RICHARD "MR. CLEAN" WHITE. MATTIE MOSS CLARK, KAREN CLARK SHEARD, AND DORINDA CLARK. OLANDA DRAPER WROTE "THIS IS THE DAY OF JUBILEE". AND AWESOME SONG. "HOLD ON OLD SOLDIER" FROM MISSISSIPPI MASS IS ON HERE. LEAD BY WALTER HAWKINS. DORINDA CLARK COLE RIPS THE MIC ON "RIGHT KNOW GOD" A VERY CHURCH FAST SONG.
