The Superstar Kidz series is a more fully realized rival to Kidz Bop. Both pass off popular songs sung by battalions of kids not yet big enough to qualify as teenyboppers, but the Superstar crew cleaves to the Kidz part of the equation more convincingly. Kidz Bop does not tinker with the lyrics--Superstar Kidz is able to do so without diminishing the junior booty-shaking spirit of the power-pop parade. Superstar Kidz 2 culls a couple of Radio Disney exclusives meant for kid consumption (Hilary Duff's "So Yesterday" and "What Dreams are Made Of" from Lizzie McGuire) and pairs them with less-suggestive minor rewrites of Clay Aiken's "Invisible" and Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful." Whether the singing is more bearable than Kidz Bop's is debatable, but Superstar again tosses in a bonus: Five karaoke tracks tacked on to the end let kids kick in their own vocals, back-up audio included. --Tammy La Gorce

10 times better(...).......2005-08-10

I really don't like the idea of remaking pop songs for kids, but if I had to pick a CD, Superstar Kidz would be it. The singing on this album is much better than that of Kidz Bop. The adults are just as good as the people singing the originals. Sure the kids aren't great, but they're just kids! And anyway, they're much better than the Kidz Bop kids. These kids really know what they're singing. What I mean is that these kids don't sound like they're just singing along because they like the rythm or tune. They actually know what's a happy song and what's a sad song, and everything in between. The Kidz Bop kids sound like they're just singing for the fun of it. Sure, we want these kids to have fun singing, but it should also sound like something meaningful.

I love this CD my all time favert Song is The Tide is High I got this CD 3 months ago at WalMart and I just love it it's so much better then the Kidz Bop CDs I got the Kidz Bop CDs from 1 to 3 then stop after 3 after I got SuperStarKidz1 I can't wait for SuperStarKidz3 pluse it has cool Karaoke trakes to sing along to if you have the frist SuperStarKidz then you got to buy the SuperStarKidz2.
