About the Artist
Priscilla Herdman is considered one of the finest singer's in American folk music. She is a notable songfinder and this skill is very evident in the selections she chose for "Stardreamer". She has performed nationally since 1975 and has released 12 albums, including three for children and their families and three with a trio consisting of Priscilla, Anne Hills and Cindy Mangsen. The CD arrived looking fine. It was a gift of lullabies for a friend who has baby twins. She reports that she and they all love it.

This is one of my all-time favorite children's CDs, though it's very enjoyable for adults, too, especially if you like folk music. It seems that most vocal lullaby albums feature soprano singers, and, being a contralto myself, it's so refreshing to listen to a singer with a more mellow, warm, lower voice. It's also much easier for me to sing along in these keys! If you'd like to check out other albums for kids, do look into Lullaby: A Collection (Music for Little People), or anything by Susie Tallman and Friends.

My first experience with Priscilla Herdman...and what an impression! I didn't want to return this to the library; neither did my children, ages 2 and 6. Her beautiful, clear, crisp voice with simple, yet rich harmonies and melodies expose kids to the art of folk music and classic rhyme. I've always sung to my children...now I have perfect company! This is my new gift for all parents!

I play this for my grandchildren - and for me. The kids love Herdman's very distinctive approach and relate well to her music. And you know what? So do I. Great music for young and old.
