The Adventures of Sir Bernard, The Good Knight! [Enhanced]

From the Artist
Dear Friends, When our children were very young, Marijean and I searched for material that would help us with the vital task of discipling Summer and Josiah. Our search led us to begin a new aspect of ministry directed specifically to children. The Hide 'Em In Your Heart series put music to Scripture verses and provided children (and parents!) with a way to keep God's Word in their hearts. The Adventures of Prayer Bear videos were designed to teach the principles of prayer, reminding kids to pray anytime and anywhere. Now, I am thrilled to introduce this new project, Sir Bernard, The Good Knight. Both of my children attended Franklin Classical School in Franklin, TN. While helping my son prepare for a final exam, I was impressed by his thorough understanding of the Biblical principles behind each virtue. He had learned that the chivalric code was a central part of the lives of God's people during the era of Christendom. That's when the idea came to create a fun project that would engage kids and help teach them these twelve virtues. My hope is that Sir Bernard will be an enjoyable musical journey and a help to parents who care deeply about discipling their children. With Gratitude, Steve Green

Album Description
Sir Bernard, The Good Knight is an action-packed, fun filled musical adventure that teaches the twelve chivalric virtues - friendliness, obedience, thrift, courtesy, trustworthiness, kindness, helpfulness, cheerfulness, bravery, loyalty, cleanliness, and reverence. The list of virtues is attributed to Bernard of Clairvaux, a God-fearing 11th century monk. So, get ready for an epic adventure that takes you back to the days of knights, castles, dragons, and pie-rats! The last track is a condensed, quiet version of the story that's perfect for bedtime. With the accompanying illustrated booklet, kids can read along or just enjoy the colorful images.--Steve Green

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding CD - my kids' favorite.......2006-01-24

This was recommended to me by a friend and boy is it a hit in my house! The quality of the music is outstanding and very singable -- I can see a Broadway musical in my mind's eye! The storyline is seamless and has characters my kids (age 5 and 3) can relate to and love. When my kids get in an argument, and my 3 year old tells the 5 year old "I think we need to learn some virtues", something is going very, very right. By the way, the 12 virtues taught in this musical story are the same as the 12 Laws of Boy Scouts of America. Don't hesitate about this one.

5 out of 5 stars AMAZING & ENTERTAINING!! hours & hours of listening & learning..........2005-08-09

I got this for my daughter when she was 4. It's been over a year now and this audio book is still listened to very often. In fact for the past 2 weeks my daughter has been listening to it when she wakes up, at room time, and begs us to listen to it with her all throughout the day. So entertaining and fun, while teaching amazing lessons of virtue and right choices! I am so hopeful they will make a sequel! :-)

5 out of 5 stars They Can't Get Enough.......2005-05-15

When I purchased this CD, I thought my kids (ages 5 & 7) might enjoy the story once or twice. I haven't had much luck in the past with products that were supposed to be "educational", and I thought they would see right through my attempt to sneak in a lesson about virtues. Boy, was I wrong... they can't get enough of this great story. I hear them singing the songs, even when the CD isn't playing. Steve Green is an excellent storyteller. I hope your young children will love this as much as mine.
