About the Artist
The Land of Nod was originally intended as a gift for our then unborn daughter, something to have from her musician parents, we just couldn't keep this project to ourselves. Rather than reinvent the same old children's songs, we decided to do something a bit different and sing the poetry accompanied with beautiful, soothing music.

Album Description
Zoppa Records™ award-winning release is a delightful compilation of poetry, music and art. This is "Musical Verses" Volume 1. Volume 2 is scheduled for release September 2004 with consecutive volumes following each year.

This first Volume has recently been awarded The 2004 Parents' Choice Foundation GOLD Award for Best Children's Music. Featured selections include verse from Robert Louis Stevenson’s, "A Child’s Garden of Verses", as well as poems from 6 other distinguished authors; Alfred Lord Tennyson, Edith Nesbit, Oliver Herford, Josepine Bacon, George Copper and Walter de la Mare, is transformed into beautifully orchestrated music with soothing melodic vocals.

Packaged attractively in a white DVD case, this edition features 15 poems, close to an hour’s worth of music on CD.

Enclosed is a beautiful 7"x5" 32-page booklet of the poetry highlighted with 30 turn-of-the-century black & white and color illustrations.

Loved By All.......2006-10-05

I can't say enough about this cd. Both of my two year old grandson's LOVE this music and request it as soon as they enter my car! They would get upset when mom and dad couldn't turn it on in their cars so I've purchased two additional cd's for their use. Adults as well as children will enjoy the songs

Great for kids AND adults!.......2006-01-24

This isn't your typical "Wheels on the Bus" kids' album. I bought this at the Land of Nod in Chicago on a whim, after having test-tried it in the store. I ended up buying two of them - one for my six-year old son, and one for my dad to listen to when he has the grandkids over. The music is a lot of fun - very well done - and a lot of tunes (Yellow Bus) are pretty funny when you listen to the lyrics. Original, fun, music for everyone. My son loves it and I do too.

beautiful soothing music not only for children.......2005-07-25

I first found this CD at the library, screening music to then buy and send to a precious new family member, and had to buy one for myself! The lyrics/poems convey vivid and evocative images of childhood and sleepy times, the music is outstanding (orchestral accompaniment for a children's lulluby CD was a wonderful surprise!) and the vocals were outstanding. The song about the little seeds ready to burst out of the ground was especially powerful and the others were absolutely stunning. This is not your typical cd with reruns of "twinkle twinkle" and other traditional favorites-this one is special and parents will enjoy this as well! Lynn
