About the Artist
Twin Sisters Productions, Inc. is a women-owned company started by twin sisters Kim Mitzo Thompson and Karen Mitzo Hilderbrand. Kim has a masters degree in "Integrating the Arts in the Elementary School Curriculum". Karen is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Both sisters are avid music lovers, taking after their father who has been a member of the Shaker Symphony for the past forty-three years.

Using her musical background in the classroom, Kim taught her first graders the days of the week, months of the year, and basic phonetic sounds with music. "Students who had difficulty learning basic concepts found success when learning with music", says Kim. When Kim changed grade levels from first grade to third grade, she decided to review the mathematical curriculum in order to familiarize herself with the new math program. Realizing she needed to teach her students multiplication, she started brainstorming unique and fun ways to teach this concept. And that's when it all began.....

Karen and Kim wrote "Rap With The Facts", a rhyming, rhythmic song to teach children multiplication facts. "We all know students memorize their favorite song on the radio in a matter of minutes. Why not capitalize on this phenomena to teach basic skills?" So with the success of her students and a little encouragement from Karen, Kim decided to take this discovery a little further. In 1987, Karen and Kim started Twin Sisters Productions, a company that would provide children with alternative ways to learn basic skills.

Today the company has audiocassettes and CD's in the subjects of Infant Lullabies, Reading Readiness, Early Childhood, Math, Foreign Language Instruction, Social Studies, Science, and Safety. In addition, the product line has branched out to include CD-ROM programs featuring games, puzzles, and fun activities. Each CD-ROM program is also a music CD as the songs are playable on a car or home CD player for extra reinforcement. Twin Sisters Productions has won over 70 Major National Product Awards and distinctions for quality, age-appropriateness, educational excellence and overall fun.
