The resurrection of the pioneering Peter Pan record label wouldn't be complete without the rollout of a collection of classic nursery rhymes. And here it is: Nursery Songs Sing-Along, which corrals 18 timeless tunes especially well suited to those not yet in possession of all their teeth. This is a thoroughly modern-sounding album. "This Old Man" is way uptempo, featuring a backing baritone who'd sound equally at home singing "Old Man River." "Mary Had a Little Lamb" thumps along to an R&B-flavored backbeat, and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" gets a fresh pop treatment and a lyric makeover ("In the dark blue sky you keep / and often through my curtains peep / for you never shut your eye / till the sun is in the sky"). "Baa, Baa Black Sheep," "London Bridge," and "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" all make the cut here. So does "This Old Man," "The Ants Go Marching," and "Little Bunny Foo-Foo," with its rogue rabbit wreaking havoc in the forest by "scoopin' up the field mice and boppin' 'em on the head." The addition of such songs is so seamless, though, that you're left wondering whether the rest of the world grew up singing along with them, and they add to the overall appeal of this very friendly, upbeat, never-cloying CD. I grew up listening to these songs on an old record that my parents had. We lost the record and I searched for these songs for my new little baby girl. I am so happy that I found it on Amazon and that my baby girl gets to grow up with the same classics that I did when I was a kid. The CD is wonderful and the price was even better.

I grew up with this music!! My dad bought the records when I was little, YES records! Im 25yrs old so this was the late the 80's when he purchased it. Now I have the opportunity to introduce this to my children! I'm so glad they are continuing to sell this music because I loved it as a child. I still remember taking the records out and asking my parents to play it.

I'm a little disappointed. I purchased this CD thinking The Disney Characters would be singing the songs. My son was all excited when I showed him the CD and asked me to play it. When he heard it he said "this is not Mickey Mouse". He was very sad. The songs on this CD are sung by children. The CD is ok.

Really very boring and campy - I can't bear to listen and wish I could return it. In fact all of the Disney Lullabuys and children's songs were downright horrible. Stick with Baby Einstein, Rock a Bye Baby and Just for Kids - Curious George is great too

I love this CD.
My 2 yr old niece knows the words to every song.
We can't get through one day without her requesting to hear "carrot stew" or "when the saints go marching in".

This compilation of children's sing-along songs is well put together. The male voice who sings these is sprite and chipper. Much better than a group of off-key kids singing children's songs! I thoroughly enjoy listening to this and singing them with my kids.

I had the Disney Songtape edition of this album when I was a kid. I have always love the Disneyland Children's Sing-Along Chorus on this album. I also had volumes 1 and 2 on record. When i got older i realized that Larry Groce was the lead singer. He had a hit in the 70's called Junk Food Junkie on the Dr. Demento show. I reciently bought all 4 volumes on CD. I like to listen to them while I work. He also did the Disneyland Little Golden Books Read-Alongs. That is Where "Why Do The Make Things Like They Do" comes from and "Thumbelina" On Volume 2. I wish the re-issued the series with the the Original Record Cover Pictures. They had the Disney Characters acting out the songs.

This is great for Disney fans because it gets away from the common Mickey Mouse songs. I love them at 23 years old.

This album is not as much fun to sing along to as volume 1. We will probably listen to this album very rarely as I am already looking for another to replace it.

We received this recording as a gift and have really enjoyed it. You may notice that the songs are listed twice, giving you about 50 tracks. The second recording of each song is made available in split-track, which means the music is in one speaker and the children singing are in another. If you adjust your stereo balance to only include the music, you can sing along without the children's voices in the background. As a new parent, I've never seen this anywhere else but on Beatles records, so I thought it was kinda neat. Happy singing!

I heard them online and thougt it would be good for my daughter and I was right. This CD contains Children singing very clearly and the music is a clasic. This is a great CD for anywhere. My daughter listens to this CD and the Preschool Tunes and Silly Songs CD's constantly.

This has been my daughter's favorite CD since she was fourteen months old. She loves to dance and go through the hand motions for the songs. She gets really excited when she hears the first song and dances all the way through to the last. I lost the CD at one point and came right back to Amazon.com to buy a replacement. It's a must in our house!

I have been playing this CD for my daughter since she was five months old. Now, at 18 months, she dances and wiggles with glee at the first note. Plus, it is children's voices that are singing the songs and she totally connects. If you have to listen to kid songs, and you know you do, this one is palatable.

      I love this CD.
      My 2 yr old niece knows the words to every song.
      We can't get through one day without her requesting to hear "carrot stew" or "when the saints go marching in".
      It's her all-time favorite CD.

        I have been listening to Disney Children's Favorites since I was four years old. Mr. Groce is a wonderful singer, and his voice is very soothing and sedating. I recently bought his second album last month and it is a hit!!!

        There is nothing Disney on this CD. It is deceiving to put a picture of one of the Disney characters on the cover of these CDs. So if you are looking for a Disney character CD, you should look elsewhere.

        Aside from that, though, the music is great and my children enjoy it thoroughly.

        This is a great cd to own. My daughter and I listen and sing along on all car rides...she loves it! I am back to buy version 2&3 today. The songs are fun and upbeat...the voice is pleasant to listen to. Very highly reccommended

        I drive my two kids (ages 2 and 4) to daycare back and forth every day - about a 20 min. drive each way. They are fully entertained with this CD. They really enjoy it. I also have volumes 2-4, and they're all good. Mr. Croce sings most of the songs so that does get a little old, but his voice is pleasing enough that I enjoy listening to these songs too. I recommend these CD's to anyone who has long (or short) trips in the car with small children.

        This CD contains songs familiar to the baby boom generation who were raised prior to MTV. The recordings are mixed well, and the lyrics are easily understood. We find ourselves listening to the same songs without boredom. Our daughter seems to enjoy them as much as her parents. This is our favorite of the four Disney CD's.
