Party Sing-Along is a many-layered, multifaceted record with a misleading title. Although many of the 14 songs on this 47-minute CD meet the high-energy, pure-fun criterion of prized party compilations, the majority warrant the kind of careful, considerate listening that's best done alone, for a couple of reasons. First there are the artists: kids' market superstars Rosenshontz, Jonathan Sprout, and Rich Charrette deliver sometimes earnest (Sprout's "Do What You Say You'll Do"), sometimes hilarious (Rosenshontz's "Hippo Rock" and Charrette's "Alligator in the Elevator") performances with the same robust silliness and expert musicianship that have earned them devoted followings. For maximum effectiveness, though, not a word should be missed (in Charrette's "Where Do My Sneakers Go at Night," for example, a community of delinquent shoes meets to frolic at the playground and soon enough "soles are flapping... laces flying / some climb over monkey bars or boogie on down the court / some are building forts"). Another reason for settling in with this set solo is a few of its songs' messages. The self-esteem-enhancing "I'm Somebody," the mini-astronomy lesson of "Nine Planets," and the curiosity-celebrating "Let's Learn About It" are best contemplated without a crowd. But if this CD must be spun at a party, so be it; its catchy, spirited vibe is apt to spur more reflective listens later. --Tammy La Gorce

For parents, listening to Dan Zanes provides not only instant Raffi relief, but also the warm sense of belonging to the right crowd. On each disc he trots out a posse of cool friends like Sheryl Crow, Suzanne Vega, and Lou Reed and he delivers his openhearted lyrics with the rare roots-rocker's gift for stirring grace into grit. It would seem that the release of his fourth record, House Party would be ripe for a backlash--how long can the hokey conceit of a bunch of aging groovsters banging out kids' tunes in a Brooklyn basement hang onto its charm? Looks like we'll have to wait and see, because House Party rages on with the same winning, welcome-to-our-homespun-revolution vibe as its predecessors. Deborah Harry takes a twirl on "Waltzing Matilda," Bob Weir fires up the "Wabash Cannonball," and Angelique Kidjo bids "Jamaica Farewell," but the Zanes originals are this record's proving grounds, and they pin the tail on the donkey with bulls-eye precision. 5 out of 5 stars Dan's first album...Wiggle the Wiggles out of your CD Player.......2007-06-12

You may have seen Dan on various spots on Sesame Street, I first saw him in his yellow suit, singing Jump Up. This album continues the wonderful music that my daughter has turned my wife and my self on to. The beats are there, and the lyrics are very catchy.

So do yourself a favor, swap out Wiggles or Barney for Dan and his Friends, and enjoy kids music once again.

Mr. Zanes, you could not have come along at a better time! In a market where Teletubbies, Barney and the Wiggles seem to have the corner, this parent-friendly album is a welcome relief from all the fruit salad/I love you, you love me/lemondrops and gumdrops drivel that permeate my mushy stay-at-home mom brain!

When I was a single college gal, I remember listening to very hip, fun music. Then came pregnancy and babies. Then Baby Einstein music (which is good, but sounds like someone's ballerina jewelry box after awhile), Barney, Sesame Street and nursery rhyme CDs that took over my music collection. Ack!!! What happened to me? I decided it was time to search for something new for me and the kids to listen to.

After finding this CD and loving it, I just assumed that my one-year-old and four-year-old would not like DZ because it sounded too different from what they were used to. Boy, was I wrong! My older one thinks she is listening to "cool music" -- which she is! We especially like the "Wabash Cannonball" but every song on here is a hit with my kids. The guy is truly talented, and it's just great stuff. And it's fun to hear the celeb singers on a kid's album. Finally, we all have "cool music" to listen to!

I bought this CD since Dan Zane is on the Disney Channel. My daughter absolutely loves it! She asks to hear "House Party" all day every day. We dance and sing and it has brought a lot of fun into our house.

We always look for music that is entertaining and enriching for both the toddler and the parent. We had heard Dan sing before on "For the Kids" CD and thought we'd give it a try. We all get down to Dan Zanes House Party! This CD never leaves the car player. The cover is a delightfully drawn board book of Dan & his entorage Whoopin' it up all over town. My 2 year old will "read" the book to me, explaining the pictures and making connections to the music. It's great.

We just checked this cd out at the library the other day, and I think we'll have to buy it, my daughters love it so much. My three-year-old adores the Disney princesses, and my one-year-old is learning to love them just as much. I grew up with he princesses myself, so it's fun and nostalgic for me, too.
The songs were fun and well-sung. Most of the songs tried to match the style of the princess singing them. Belle's "So Very Glad You're Here" could fit right in with "Be Our Guest", Ariel's songs had a Caribbeann or beach party flair, Jasmine's "Musical Chairs" sounded like something from the streets of Agrabah, and Mulan's "Cups and Saucers" had whispers of the orient. As others have mentioned, some of the voices aren't original (Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora, obviously). However, the voices they chose are pleasing and perform the songs well, even if they don't sound exactly the same. Quite honestly, I thought the new Snow White's voice was an improvement. I've never really cared for the original Snow White's voice, and they made a better replacement choice on this cd than they did for the Disney Princess Christmas dvd...that Snow White had a voice that was pretty annoying. Belle's voice is sung by Susan Egan (the original "Broadway Belle") instead of Paige O'Hara (except on the last song, "If You Can Dream"...Paige sings there), but their voices are so similar you can hardly tell. It took me several times of listening to the album before I realized it wasn't Paige. Overall, I found the cd very enjoyable...one that I don't mind listening to over and over (good thing, too, with my daughter). My husband may not survive, though.

My almost 3 year old daughter found this cd at the library and she loved listening to it so much that we bought it for her birthday. It has great music on it to play during a birthday party. My daughter and girl cousins love to sing and dance to it.

I bought this for my princess-obsessed daughters when it was first released and now, over a year later, it is still a staple in our car's CD player. They listen to this album over and over again, happily singing along and never seeming to tire of it. I could chalk this up to it being the Princesses capturing the hearts of my little girls, but these are very musically savvy preschoolers who can be very picky about what they sing and dance to. I think this is a favorite because it's a good CD, Princesses or not. All the songs on the album are new originals based on the principals of being a good princess. Except for Snow White, Cinderella and Aurora all the songs are sung by the original Princess vocalists (Jodi Benson, Lea Salonga and Paige O'Hara). All the vocals are beautifully sung. The music is reminiscent of Broadway musicals or Disney music soundtracks. It's upbeat and catchy, even infectious. After hundreds of listens I still find myself singing along. And really, as parents, aren't we just looking for something our kids love that we can enjoy as well? The album's standouts are Belle's bouncy "The Perfect Princess Tea," Cinderella's "Every Girl Can Be A Princess" (complemented by mouse harmonies), Ariel's calypso meets 60's girl singer "Happy Birthday Princess", and "If You Can Dream" a melodic poppy ballad sung by all the princesses.

I don't know why everyone bought this album only to his or her young daughter who were only 5 or 6 years old or younger. I think if you're a true Disney Princess fan, your age can't keep you away from this album! You know, I'm a teenager, a university freshman, I bought this album for myself and enjoyed it very much!
According to this lyrics of these songs, I know that these songs were teaching little girls how to be a princess. For example, "Manners and Etiquettes" taught girls how to eat gracefully, "The Princess Dances" taught some different dances to tell girls how to dance beautifully, "Cups and Saucers" taught girls that how to have tea in a Chinese way. I think we teenagers can learn these too.
But one of the reason I bought this album was very important, my favourite lady vocals sang songs of this album. I love the feeling that Jodi Benson's, Lea Salonga's and Paige O'Hara's voices delighting my ears. The song "If you can Dream" was one of my favourites. In the lyrics, girls can learn how to dream and how to make their dreams come true. Listening to this song, I know I should fight for my dreams and never give up until my dreams all come true!
And, as a Chinese university student, I think listening to English songs can improve my English. So in my opinion, this album is not only for little kids but also for teenagers and all the people who love Disney Princess. I think this album is fit for little girls and me at least!

The melody is beautiful, and the lyrics are very beautiful, romantic and encouraging! The song "Happy Birthday" of Ariel's is very good, because Ariel's voice is beautiful and sweet! The song "If you can dream" of all the princesses is the best! I have been looking for MP3 of this song, and now I found it has been featured in this album! Hah hah... I think I'll buy this album!!!

This CD was a big disappointment. I was hoping for the REAL renditions for my child's birthday party, and BOY, while these are the real words, and sung in tune by adults, they are not the songs I remember listening to. (At least they are sung in tune, although there is not a drop of passion in it.)

Perhaps I can get my money's worth out by hanging it outside to scare the crows away.

Young kids really do dig this CD, and the bonus is that parents can tolerate it pretty well also, often even singing along. You wouldn't want to hear it every day, but it's a great choice for birthday parties. Though if your kid is old enough to worry about being cool, this probably isn't the CD for you. LOL

This is all feel-good music. We have listened to the tape while in the car until it has worn out. Thank you amazon.com. We could not find it anywhere else. Not even the company who made the tape could locate it for us. Now we've ordered the CD, and my husband even asked us to order one for his new car.

My 2 year old loves this CD. We always have to listen to The Wiggles in the car. We have many Wiggles CDs and listen to a different one each day we are in the car. If you have a Wiggles fan, this CD is a must have.

Our 2 1/2 year old could listen to this album over and over and over. She loves it and it gets her dancing and singing. Beware of the Wiggles though, they will get into your head and never get out. That said, we are so happy with this album and we listen to it in every room of the house and in the car. I hear my little girl singing the songs as she goes to bed which is sweet.

Take it from our three year old, it's their best work yet. We enjoy most of their albums (some are complete duds like the Western one), but this one is classic from start to end. The songs are short and sweet, yet uniquely hip. It is rare that the CD is out of our player, and when it is, it is usually the Yummy Yummy CD. We even purchased the Dance Party DVD which features a much younger looking Wiggles (and with Anthony in desperate need for a haircut) and it is an enjoyable companion to this lovely album.

My son is two and has loved the Wiggles since he was four months old. The songs are fun to dance to and have some educational background to them as well (check out the video, too). I am a kindergarten teacher and have used tracks in the classroom to teach letter sounds (Di Dicki Do Dum) and blends as well as poetry timing. I am very pleased!

My daughter loves the Wiggles Yummy Yummy CD, so after reading some good reviews on Dance Party I decided to buy it. This CD is a lot more annoying than Yummy Yummy - some songs actually make me cringe. My daughter likes the CD, but it is not one of her favorites.

This CD is a great mix of music. My daughter is 7 and if your kids love to watch Disney Channel as much as mine does, they will love it becasue they will know all the words to the songs.

I purchased this CD set for my 18 month old son. He LOVES The Wiggles and he knows most of the motions to their choreography. One of his favorite songs is "Move Like an Emu." When we play these CDs in the car, I occasionally turn around and see his arms moving...the exact motions we see on TV/DVDs. You cannot go wrong with The Wiggles! If your child is a Wiggles fan, he/she will love these CDs. FYI: One of the CDs in the set includes lots of songs we had never heard before, but we were already familiar with most of the songs on the other two CDs.

My son absolutely loves the music and dances around the house to it. It is a great value for 3 cds. The only problem is the plastic cd holders are lousy. My son used the item for two days and all were broken.

My kids love this cd set of their favorite band, The Wiggles! I recommend this collection as a lot of different songs as well as old favorites are included in the set. We listen to it all the time. If your little ones like the Wiggles this is a good set for them.

My 3 year old son LOVES this CD; the kid's in his daycare room dance around w/ such joy, especially to "Barbie Girl" and the "Electric Slide" Songs. This CD is very popular w/ the pre-schoolers!

I bought this CD...near me to have a fresh copy of the song which I already had on a cassette by...My daughter wanted it for a talent show at her school. The vocals on the new CD were not at all like her cassette, and we were very disappointed in the lessened upbeat feeling from this version. The other music on this CD was okay, except for the first song, which I personally didn't care for at all. Had I known the lack of quality in this version, I never would have purchased it!

I bought this thinking the songs were recorded by the original artists. They are not, done by some band called the Hit Crew. Get Greatest Hits of the 50s (Box Set) instead. It has the original recordings, including Witch Doctor.

I bought this when my son turned 4. The first song, "Happy, Happy Birthday to You", I play every year on his birthday to wake him up. Tomorrow he turns 13, and as tradition carries on, I'll be carrying in the player to wake him up, with that special song along with me singing.

The entire tape has cute songs for birthday parties, or just for little ones to enjoy while playing by themselves.

Songs your toddlers and kids will love! My 8 month old goes quiet when I play this in the car (stops crying), my 3 year old sings along and has figured out the words before I even did. Dublin's Zoological Gdns, La Cucaracha, Hoop De Doo, Marie's Wedding...my older daughter is a big wiggles lover and she doesn't care if the songs aren't on the shows she's seen. It's intelligent music with excellent lyrics that kids can dance to.

Not really to happy with this CD only three maybe four songs on the CD that my kids knew the rest of the songs the wiggles don't sing on there show or in there movies didn't care to much for this CD.

This cd is so much fun to listen, sing and dance along to. It never fails to get me singing or dancing along to it. It's personally one of my favorite of all The Wiggles' cds. Something about a polka song sung by The Wiggles gets my toes tapping :)

We have almost all of the Wiggles CDs so I think I'm becoming a resident authority these days! We never grow tired of them and my little one requests them all the time and this one is no different. It's funny to hear a two-year-old say "Hoop De Doo!" The video that coincides with this is really great. The first time I put it in and hear the title track, I said to myself, "there's no way they're in there doing a polka!" Well, guess what? They were! These guys are so silly but teach such great things to kids. This one has a Scottish wedding song on it called "Marie's Wedding" (pronounced Mah-ree [sounds like Murray] in Australia whereas we would just say Marie), which is really neat and exposes kids to other English-speaking cultures. I love that. Not to mention all the different music styles in this one. I personally love the drum solo in "Wiggly Party."

This CD and video is the one to get if you're doing a Wiggles Birthday party. It has all the party songs on it and on the DVD, "Wiggly Party: has a ton of balloons that are released during the song and that's really neat for kids to see during a party. But honestly, "Captain's Magic Buttons" is worth the cost of the cd by itself. My husband almost has a doctorate in music and he has to replay that song over and over again he likes it so much! You have to get the video to see what they did to the song "Caveland." It is fully animated and just so very, very cute. I've never seen anything like that one. "Run Around, Run, Run" teaches kids how to sing and listen to music in a round, and "Wobbly, Wobbly Dance" teaches a bunch of coordination. Another favorite is "Move Like an Emu." This cd keeps my litte one dancing a bunch in his carseat and it will definitely entertain toddlers everywhere. And, if you ever get to see the Wiggles live, it's awesome to see what they do with some of the songs on this album. Great stuff - you can't go wrong with this one and it makes a great gift. Educational and fun!

This has quickly become our 2 1/2 year old's favorite album, and every time we listen to it, my wife and I both enjoy it more. All the songs are sweet -- the Scottish wedding song, the "Rosie Tea" (Run Around), the title track -- all of them! It is quite lively, and our biggest problem is at bedtime when our daughter wants to dance to Wiggly Party and we would rather she listen to listen to lullabies...
