About the Artist
Kathy Byers, as a new children's artist, brings her multi-talents to the stage with a "very refreshing voice" and a "wonderful grasp of words" in her songwriting, her fans say. She truly envelops her young audiences with songs "extremely sensitive to the lives of children" and music "most pleasant for adults to hear".

A New Jersey Native, she has been singing solos since the fifth grade. She sang in choral groups throughout grammar school, high school and college including the New Jersey All-State Chorus and the All-Eastern Division of the Music Educators National Conference.

Kathy began to sing and play guitar at coffeehouses while a student at Penn State University. Upon graduation, she started a solo act with guitar in local restaurants of northwestern New Jersey. She appeared on television Channel 11's "Focus: New Jersey" with John Hamilton in New York City.

She is the Director of the children's choir at Ogden Church in Chatham, New Jersey where she resides with her husband Jim and 8 year-old son Matthew - who provides her inspiration to write, produce and perform CHILDREN'S SONGS!

I highly recommend this CD for children of all ages. The original music and lyrics are captivating. The BooBoo song is fun and one my children now sing when they get hurt. Smells Like Winter creates wonderful imagery that I enjoy as much as my children. Kathy Byers has a voice that appeals to both children and adults. This is one of my favorite children's CDs!

Upbeat, appealing folk songs brimming with heart, whimsy and spirit that children ages 3-8 years will especially enjoy. This CD has a warm, gentle sound that also delights and soothe sressed parents, like me! There's a great mix of vocals and instrumentals on tracks like Beaches and Whistle, Clap with an infectious beat that your kids will want to listen to again and again. If you enjoy the music of Joanie Bartels or Judy Collins, you should enjoy Kathy Byers' CD too.
