The second volume of Disney Karaoke stands tall in comparison with the chirpy premiere outing of this series. Again, 10 songs from films including Cinderella ("A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes"), Dumbo ("Baby Mine"), and The Jungle Book ("The Bare Necessities") are presented first with vocals and then instrumentally, allowing starry-eyed would-be singers to belt their way through these feel-good numbers with or without an audience and a microphone. But even those who'd rather take tea with Cinderella's stepsisters than clown around in classic karaoke fashion won't feel their money's been wasted on this CD. Despite the absence of celebrity vocals, the performances roundly razzle-dazzle; on standouts such as "Friend Like Me" from Aladdin and "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid it's clear that Disney's vast talent pool isn't getting any shallower. And the inclusion of complete lyrics in the liner notes, crucial to any karaoke album, serves the dual purpose of erasing sing-along riddles and stirring fuzzy memories of Disney-style movie magic. --Tammy La Gorce

My daughter and I are enjoying singing to the songs on the CD; it is very nice to have the lyrics appear on our cheap-o karaoke machine.

BUT, one bummer is that the singers on the non-karaoke versions are NOT the original singers and this was not advertised on the website. We were expecting that the songs would be indeed sung by the singers that popularized the songs. This was misleading.

La-la-la... Have you ever had a song stuck in your head that you've fallen in love with, only to realize that you can't literally sing it because you don't know its lyrics? I bet so. If your answer is a yes, and you love Jesse McCartney, Kelly Clarkson, Bowling for Soup, Aly & AJ, Skye Sweetnam, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan and Everlife, then this is for you. Even if perhaps you don't know all of the singers and/or their songs, this CD is a great way to learn more about them. Just because the CD says "Disney", it doesn't mean that the songs are Disney songs - it's just that Disney made this CD. For each song, the lyrics come on your TV screen, and you can even turn off your TV if you just want to listen to the songs. What's even greater is that you can choose either an instrumental or vocal version of each, so you can challenge yourself to sing alone. This would be a great pastime for parties and sleepovers, too. So stand up and get that singer in you start jamming!

Before I have bought this CD, I had thought that this CD must be like any other Disney Princess karaoke CDs. The Disney Princess karaoke CDs I had bought before made me disappointed more or less, because the songs in them were not the original versions, and the instrumental tracks were not the original ones either. They felt not so good. I'm a Disney Princess music collector, and I couldn't decide whether I should buy this CD as soon as a friend who had got this CD lent it to me. After I have finished all the tracks in this CD, I decided to buy this CD immediately. It's really wonderful! I couldn't stop listening to it after I bought it.
It's not like any other Disney Princess karaoke CDs, especially the instrumental tracks are better off, though some of the songs in this album are old. I think the best instrumental track in this album is the one of "If You Can Dream". This song is one of my favorite Disney Princess song, so this track is what I have been looking for for long. This track took my worry away as soon as I was doubt that this track is an original instrumental track or not. It is the original one, in the part of the chorus in this song, there is a little vocal. So when I sing along I feel excellent! And the instrumental track of "Every Girl Can Be a Princess" which was from the album "Disney Princess Tea Party" just like "If You Can Dream", is also a good one. The instrumental track of "A Whole New World" is wonderful too, the initial romantic feeling hasn't lost at all. But I was very a little disappointed that "A Whole New World" track with vocal is not the original version. So are the tracks "So This Is Love" "Once Upon A Dream" and "I Won't Say (I'm in Love)". However, if all the instrumental tracks were maken up from the initial timbre, it might give us a little terrible feeling in ears.
Generally speaking, this is a wonderful job that Disney Records did. There are wonderful new songs and some classic songs with or without vocal. It's pretty good in my opinion, and I think your little girls will love this, the elder Disney Princess fans will love this and collect it too.

I bought this for my 6 year old daughter for Christmas and we have been disappointed with it. I chose this one because it was the only one that was age appropriate at our local WM, but most of the songs are ones that neither she or any of her friends know and they are hard to sing along with for kids at this age.

This CD is NOT coded with CD+G lyrics for Karaoke machines. You can play the CD and sing along with a microphone, but the lyrics will not show on your TV screen. As far as I am concerned, you could do this with any CD, and Disney has CDs with the original artists singing the songs. I was disappointed.

I personally think that this CD is overall very good. It has a good variety of fun songs from lots of Disney's best movies. The few things that I didn't enjoy quite as much were the fact that some of the songs were in ranges that didn't fit many singing types, and seemed only based to fit the singer's voice on the example tracks. Some of the songs were also shortened a bit. But my opinion is that it's a great opportunity to listen to the strengths of your voice and start to record yourself, or just have fun. And if you don't like it, just send it back. Hope this helped!

These may not be the originals, but the music is wonderful and Disney did choose amazing vocalists for the reference songs. They are not any less artistic or musical than the originals, but simply a different version. I have both volumes, I and II, and I personally think that volume II contains a more interesting collection of songs.

I don't care if these are not the original recordings.... they sound GREAT! Personally, I think they sound BETTER than the originals, but who cares?
