Return to the Sea neatly picks up where the original Little Mermaid soundtrack left off. The opener, "Down to the Sea," is an uplifting anthem peppered with sweet-voiced musings from Ariel (Jodi Benson) about her aquatic hurdles and accomplishments. "Tip and Dash" is a feisty number by the title fish, transformed here into Titanic Tip and Daring Dash, who "dare dastards to put up their dukes" and warn barracudas that the duo's about to save the day. And "For a Moment," an affecting heart-warmer, is a mother-daughter duet about the grandness of the sea and what it means to be of the water. "For a moment," croons Ariel gorgeously, "part of me is alive and at home in the sea/Life is cool as I'm asplash in the world's biggest pool." Her sole wish, though, is that her mother, the equally lovely voiced Tara Charendoff, could watch her soar and shine. This record presents only one other original track, "Here on the Land and Sea," alongside four familiar favorites that fit comfortably with the mermaid theme. "Iko Iko," "Octopus's Garden," "Give a Little Love," and "Hot, Hot, Hot" are all performed by Samuel E. Wright (Little Mermaid's Sebastian), who deftly delivers each tune in his rich, island-reminiscent style. What's most enjoyable about this soundtrack is its brevity--it doesn't try too hard or reach too far, instead leaving listeners with a simple, pleasing reminder of the movie's uplifting message and clever, completely Disneyesque characters. --Tammy La Gorce

Not complete but pretty good!.......2006-05-19

When I first saw the movie, the music in it impressed me much. Then I decided to buy this soundtrack.
I was so excited that Jodi Benson returned in the music in Little Mermaid's sequel, her voice always intertain me much! The song "For A Moment" is which I love best. I can feel the happiness of a new mermaid, how Ariel missed her daughter, and something more. "Tip & Dash" is comical, and Melody's voice is so sweet and cute. "Down to the Sea" and "Here on the Land and Sea" are not very different from each other, cheerful and inspiring. The songs that Sebastian performed are not as good as the songs from the movie, and I can't figure out why they were recorded in this soundtrack. However, the songs "Iko, Iko, Iko" and "Give A Little Love" are good.
This soundtrack is not complete. Firstly, the songs from the movie haven't been completely recorded in the soundtrack, the end title "Part of Your World" was so beautiful, but why it's not here? And the Chinese edition has not only the end title but also 2 other songs that Sebastian sang. Secondly, there's no scores in this soundtrack, but thought the scores in the movie are not very exceptional, I wish this soundtrack could be complete.

What a good soundtrack!"For a moment"is my favourite!Tara Charendoff 's voice was so good and sweet,but I like Jodi Benson's voice better.The three or four songs of Sabastian are good too.Ilove"Give a little love".In my opinion,it's the best of the four.

The best soundtrack.......2002-06-10

I loved this soundtrack! It was just as good as the original. From the heartwarming songs "For a Moment" and "Down to the Sea" to the exciting "Titanic Tip and Daring Dash", the soundtrack and the movie were both excellent. I would recommend both of these to people of all ages.

it was a great cd that everybody needs to own. the song titanic tip and daring dash has u singing along without realizing u r. any age group can see the movie and here the songs on it and love it

I do not have this cd, but it's still good!.......2001-06-05

I watched the movie two times, and I liked " Titanic Tip and Daring Dash." That song ROX! There are some songs that were boring and not too good for me, like " Here on the Land and Sea", and " For a Moment." That's why I rated it 4 starz. But they still have great songs there!
