Junior Parker learned his harp at the knee of Sonny Boy Williamson, but his singing deserves at least as much attention. Despite its smooth delivery, Parker's voice never lacked power, and I'm So Satisfied is proof of that. Though all of this material was previously issued, this is the first time it's been collected on CD; I'm So Satisfied is 31 tracks of Parker's best work, including "Just Like a Fish" and "Sometimes I Wonder." "Baby, Please" is as soulful a ballad as one could wish, and "Come Back Baby" has a sassy, sensual appeal. Parker's backing musicians are strong without ever overwhelming his lead, allowing him to take a relaxed attitude toward even the more up-tempo songs, such as "You Ain't Got No Heart" and "Wish Me Well." So little of Parker's recorded work is available that this album is a real treasure. Though various greatest-hits collections exist, I'm So Satisfied is one of the most comprehensive. --Genevieve Williams

Great renditions of true memphis blues........1998-08-24

Junior Parker sang in the back of my father's furniture store in West memphis Arkansas when I was growing up. He knows the world he sings about. He thrilled us then and this recording captures it all. This is a great value album

THE BEST of Ashford and Simpsons albums EVER!!!.......2005-06-11

So So Satisfied is my favorite of all of the Ashford and Simpson albums. The entire contents are well written, arranged, and orchestrated. The shift between Richard Tee, and Valerie Simpson on piano is pretty much flawless. This album is the least commercial and therefore practically timeless. It opens with the pulsating, "Tried, Tested, and Found True" This song gets you up out of your seat and prepares you to be taken on a journey. The title song, "So So Satified" is beautifully arranged and I find myself repeatedly listening to it just to hear all of the instruments, and the melody. One song that people tend to sleep on, but is SO POWERFULLY WRITTEN, is "It's You". This song is the epitomy of true love songs. I am often surprised that A & S NEVER sing any songs from this album, and radio NEVER plays any song from this album (like on Quiet storm or old school radio). While most of A & S's music seems dated, and very disco, So So Satisfied, comes off more mellow with a mix of jazz, classical, gospel, blues, and pure funk. This album is WELL WORTH buying and should get more props than it does. It's a hidden treasure, so don't sleep on it!

That last song, ''If you're lying'' sounds like a revival at a church concert. That song alone almost had me doing the holy ghost in my room. "Over and Over" is one incredible piece that I think should have received more airplay. This group is truly gifted and I really do enjoy the vocals of Simpson.. man she got the chops to take anything. I highly recommend this album. Highly!

An Absolute Masterpiece!.......2004-12-28

For me, this album was instrumental in my becoming a singer, based on the structure and lyrical content of the songs selected. Valerie Simpson is absolutely phenominal on every lyric she sings, and Nick Ashford completly wrecks the house in his "rap" on "Over and Over". However, the opus "If You're Lying" closes out what I consider to be the second best album this duo released. BUY THIS CD!

THE ALBUM TITLED SONG IS THE BEST. SO SO SATISFIED EXPRESSES JUST HOW I FEEL WHEN I HEAR IT. THE SONG EMITS NOTHING BUT LOVE AND INTIMACY. I CAN JUST IMAGINE HOW CLOSE THEY FELT WHILE SINGING THIS BEAUTIFUL DUET. I'VE ONLY CARED FOR A FEW OF THEIR SONGS, BUT THIS ONE,"FLOATS MY BOAT". MAYBE ONE DAY THEY WILL DO ANOTHER SONG OF THIS CALLIBER, UNTIL THEN, I HOPE THEY KEEP ON, KEEPIN ON!

Classic Early A&S.......2001-07-26

One of the earliest A&S albums available on CD, this lp is less like their later 70's and 80's albums. It is less theatrical, quieter in its arrangements, more relaxed. It shows elements of folk and jazz in its soul, and it coheres as a whole album beautifully. The title track is a standout amongst the strong set, and "Over And Over" is included, a song covered several times, notably by Sylvester. The lp has held up exceptionally well over the past 25 years and along with Stay Free is one of the duo's two best albums on CD.

I remember being there when Vashawn and the Choir use to practiced at my church, listening to how beautiful they sound and singing along with them in every rehersal. This CD was off the chain then and still is now. Some of the songs such as; Live Holy, So satisfied, Worthy to be Praised, just to name a few, got me through some rough times, and believe it or not they still do!! Buy this CD it is really anointed, just like his new ones!!!

This was a wonderful CD....it was fresh and the Lead singers are going to be great singers as this group grows...I know that they are a new group and with the next CD and CD's to come it will only get better...LIVE HOLY...LIVE HOLY is the bomb...WORTHY TO BE PRAISED, is a great song, Church choir will really enjoy...HE'LL GIVE IT...is a hotttt song with a youthful sound...very Chicago...and the Lead is a male...Lift him up was a great song also I WOULDNT SERVE A GOD I COULDNT FEEL SOMETIME...THIS WHOLE PROJECT IS FILLED WITH SONGS THAT ARE WONDERFUL...AND THE MOST HIDDEN TRACK IS CARNIVAL OF PRAISE...HOOTTTT!!!!!DONT MISS THOSE VOCALS ON THIS ONE...

VaShawn and his group have something special. I love music, I love singing, and I love being ministered to through more than a nice beat. Lyrics--when quoting the word of God--are what help me to understand the message being conveyed in gospel music (it's what makes this genre so unique). "So Satisfied!" absolutely satisfies this qualification, and exceeds all of my expectations. The strengh and unity of New Image on this album is exceptional, and the album as a whole has touched a place in my heart, giving me an everlasting blessing.

well this cd was tight when I heard it in 1997.. but now it doesn't really compete with the times of today....It sounds kinda out of date to me..cuz I bought it this year thinkin that it would still be tight..but I was wrong...It's just not good enough to last against the cd's of now..but the cd's isn't horrible though..it's okay..alright that's it.

The Greatest Gospel Album Ever.......2001-12-23

Vashawn really took gospel music to another level with this album. It is very inspiring and touching. I recommend this album for people of all ages. God has blessed this young man with a great gift.
