Pokémon fever continues to burn hot, as evidenced by this catching symptom: a high-octane pop soundtrack for the animated television series. Dream teen group Johto borrow from the elements that make Backstreet Boys, Britney, Christina, and 'N Sync sensationally popular, repackaging their sound Pokémon-style for young audiences. A cross between Up with People, Hanson, and a latter-day Mickey Mouse Club, Totally Pokémon opens with "Pokémon Johto" the syrupy pop jingle that opens the television show each Saturday morning. The record's first single, "Pikachu (I Choose You)," is an infectiously buoyant Latin-tinged dance number, and "He Drives Me Crazy" is a youthfully crushed-out ballad in celebration of series protagonist Ash Ketchum. The Witnesses of the songs in order to sing the Karaoke versions, always demanded from the children and unknown songs.
