About the Artist
Rob Graves released his first solo project, "Tonight is the Last Night" in 1992 shortly after leaving the Berklee College of Music. Since that time he has produced several projects, including Michael Sweet's "Truth," and Justin Christian's "Grace."

His latest project, "When Angels Fly," is a powerful tribute to his younger brother, Logan Graves, who was taken by cancer in December of 1998. The album is sure to bring healing to anyone who has suffered a loss, but it is also a beautiful work of music that all will enjoy.

Album Description
"When Angels Fly" is the first solo release in six years from Berklee-trained New England artist Rob Graves. From the moving "Learn to Be Still" opening, to the soaring "When Angels Fly" title track, this album is certain to touch the soul.

Composed in memory of Rob's younger brother, Logan Graves, the album contains ten stirring songs that show a diverse range of musical talent and songwriting. From acoustic driven tracks such as "I Want to Be With You," to the alternative "Where I Am," this CD is sure to please.

A portion of the profits from this album is going to the Logan P. Graves Foundation, which supports the American Cancer Society, the Maine Children's Cancer Program, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and other childhood cancer organizations.

She must be a Goddess! At the very least--a "Fallen Angel." How could a mere human voice produce such longing and beauty!

The timeless intensity of "Over My Shoulder" is, by itself, well worth the price of the CD.

Enjoy this testament to the fragility and the stubborn pride of the divinely human heart.

This is one of the greatest "masterpieces" I have ever heard in my life! The songs are perfect, not overdone, not oversung and truly cut to the heart!! My favorite is "Here I Am" but I also love "You Don't Even Know Who I Am", "Ships", "Over My Shoulder", "Elvis", "Halfway Down", "Handful of Dust" and the title track. Shoot, they're all fantastic!! I could listen to this over and over and over and over and never tire!! Can you tell I love this CD???? Patty Loveless is unbeatable and is not given enough credit for being an "evergreen" in country music.

PATTY ...A REAL ARTIST...NOT A PHONY!!.......2005-05-16

This was the CMA's album of the year!! With good reason; no filler here at all! One thing about Loveless is that she's consistent but she continues to top herself without selling or compromising who she is to "do what sells". Patty is also aware of the need for maintaining her roots and not pretending to be someone she is not. And she doesn't oversell the songs. She's just pure and clean without resorting to vocal gimmickry like (Reba, Hill, McBride, Twain). Patty is vastly underrated as a singer and performer because she is no phony. She's the real thing......and unfortunately, the real thing gets overlooked amid all the glitz, glamour and artificiality of the ones I just mentioned above. "When Fallen Angels Fly" is a true masterpiece...but then Patty Loveless is a true artist!!

A Great Collection of Songs.......2004-07-09

For most of my life, I haven't really been into country. My parents both listened to it a little bit, but I never gave it much interest. That is, until last summer when my best friend lent me this CD (and a few others) for a family vacation. I was pretty jaded and didn't think I would even listen to it... but somewhere during the 7-hour drive, I popped in this CD and gave it a listen. I couldn't have been more surprised about how much I fell in love with it. Patty has an AMAZING voice packed with strong emotion, maturity, and pure class. She has no problem delivering anything she sings and always puts her distinct stamp on a song. She's like no other. Every song on this album is wonderful and believable. My favorite tracks are "A Handful of Dust", "When the Fallen Angels Fly", "You Don't Even Know Who I Am", and "Here I Am"

This lady truly is a one of a kind and deserves all the sucess she has gotten over the span of her career. She has finally opened my eyes to real, authentic country music. It's no wonder she has been around so long.

Contemporary country album of high quality.......2004-05-29

Patty has recorded many excellent albums and this one is well up to her usual standard. It includes three major country hits and seven other wonderful songs. The three hits are You don't even know who I am (about a woman who leaves a man who doesn't understand her), Here I am (about a woman's desire for a particular man) and I try to think about Elvis (an up-tempo song about a woman trying to get over a broken relationship).

Elsewhere, there are plenty of fine songs beginning with Handful of dust, a mid-tempo song with a similar idea to the old sixties pop song, A hundred pounds of clay. Halfway down (another mid-tempo song), When fallen angels fly (an excellent ballad about a happy relationship) and Feeling good about feeling bad (about successfully getting over a broken relationship) are among the other great songs here.

HOPE BEYOND SORROW; UNDERLYING THEME OF "WHEN ANGELS FLY".......2000-05-02

These songs are born of incredible loss and yet are full of the promise that awaits us all as children of God. Whether you've experienced the loss of a loved one or have trials beyond measure, the words and music on "When Angels Fly" will touch your heart. The melodies stay with me long after I've listened to them. The words are those of a poet and yet so accurately express what I myself have felt. I have given "When Angels Fly" as gifts to family and friends who are experiencing sorrow, and the appreciation has been great. I am always aware of the suffering of others and look for something, be it a book, a passage, or a personal note to remind them that I love them and God loves them too. Now I have a beautiful collection of songs to share with those who need to remember that "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." PSALM 46:1. I would encourage anyone who is seekig comfort and a strengthened belief to buy this CD; you will not be disappointed.

What a great testament to God's grace through the painful loss of a loved one. Rob is a phenomenal guitarist, a wonderful producer, and a top-notch musician. If you want to here some first-rate music with an eternal message, this is it. Justin Christian's passionate vocals and Simon Miner's exquisite piano-playing perfectly compliment Rob's flawless acoustic guitar. This is evident on the opening track, "Learn To Be Still" as well as renditions of "Be Still My Soul" and the emotional "Jesus, Lover Of My Soul". Track 6 is worth the price of the album.

Rob Graves lost his little brother to cancer last year and he wrote this album for him. It's incredible. If you're hurting at all this album will bring you complete comfort. Even if you haven't lost someone, his music is amazing.

"When Angels Fly" is a beautiful mix of deep and hopeful music. The album has a worshipful tone without being "preachy" or overdone. I appreciate the fine musicianship displayed on each track and particularly enjoy the 3 instrumental songs. Rob is a fantastic guitarist. He plays with great sensitivity and understanding. "Late November" has the feel of an old classic - a timeless quality that transports you emotionally to a place of peace, harmony, and "down-to-your-toes" joy. It reminds me of the truly beautiful moments of my life. This is an awesome album!

YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!.......2000-04-24

Never have I heard such honest emotions in music. I love listening to the CD, especially late at night. It gives me great peace and puts my soul at rest. Rob is a very talented and gifted artist. God is surely using him in my life and in the lives of many others.

With that thought, the song "When Angels Fly" began to emerge. Without my knowing, this song had actually been writing itself for the last 26 some-odd years. This is how it all began: Approximately 3 years ago, my daughter met and fell in love with a wonderful young man. He was her perfect match, and the kind of son-in-law who makes a father proud. I wanted to do something special, giving my daughter the storybook wedding, i.e. the Four Seasons Hotel, a tropical daytime setting outside, the tent, the works. I began to realize, this was the easy part. A fathers love for his daughter is different from any other kind. Only a father having a daughter can possibly understand this. And, like all fathers, I wanted everything to be perfect for the wedding. The perfect toast would be as required as the tuxedo Id choose. The meaningful lyrics of a father-daughter dance song would have to demonstrate the feelings that were so hard for most fathers to express. My little girl was kind enough to set the wedding date a year ahead, allowing me plenty of time to find an appropriate song affirming my (overflowing) feelings. When I began, I was amazed. No one song expressed the feelings I longed, no, ached for her to know. Indeed, there are some nice, time-worn songs (by major artists) that might typically be used for the father daughter dance. But, there were none containing lyrics expressing how I felt, or said it in the way I wanted her to hear it. There was only one thing left to do. Write it myself! Fortunately, I have some very special long-time friends in the music business, so I made a call. Iona, Clarence, and David were very excited about the wedding and pleased to help out. As they immediately learned, there was only one criterion. I want to see tears in my daughters eyes when the song is over. The song became a labor of love between us for next eleven months. I took several trips back east for the recording sessions and we were on the phone almost daily. From the very beginning the song seemed to take on a life of its own. I can assure you that the words and music did truly come from heaven; we were just the messengers. At the final recording session, Tony Ransom was laying down the lead vocals. I couldnt look at Tony. The moment his beautiful voice began the opening riff that ends with my baby, I began to cry. I was in the control booth facing the back wall, tears streaming down my face. The words and music were everything I had prayed for, and much more. Iona, one of the co-writer/producers was standing next to me. After Tony sang about four lines, I glanced at her, tears splattering her silk blouse. We just nodded to each other in a knowing glance, both having experienced something we would never forget. It would not be the last time we would cry. Over the next few weeks leading up to the wedding, I probably listened to the song a hundred times. Each time I cried at a different spot in the song. The count down for the wedding day had begun. I could not wait to give the toast that I had also worked on for a year and dance the father-daughter dance with my baby. Finally, the big day arrived and all was ready. Iona and Clarence had flown in from Chicago, Iona, to give a very special introduction to our song. This is how it went: "Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a very special song. It has been in the works and has been writing itself for the last 27 years, 3 months, & 16 days. And, it's ready to be presented today. A few of us were fortunate enough, including Alisha's father, myself, and my husband Clarence, to listen to words from The Heavenly Father and pass them on." I absolutely love the CD. I think I listened to it about 50 times and I only got it last week. I played it for my mom and she just broke down in tears...my mom thought that it would be best if my dad hears it before the wedding (so he doesn't get too emotional on the day). Let's just say, he got too emotional when he listened to it 5 times...the song, he says, was very powerful and I heard him whisper to my mom..."This is exactly how I feel...unbelievable". An incredible song, our daughter's wedding was this past November when the Father and Daughter had their dance, it was amazing. It was the most beautiful and most perfect song played. My daughter and husband are not individuals that get teary eyed but while dancing to "When Angels Fly" they did. It was incredible the song was so special that it seemed to transform the entire room and everyone there. Afterwards during the reception many of the guests inquired about the song and commented on what a beautiful song it was. This song is a MASTERPIECE.
