A Hip-Hopera Christmas

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
There are candy-cane collections of holiday music for kids and then there are the discs that are the aural equivalent of a coal bin. Unfortunately, the Animaniacs are covered in soot. An attempt to retell the Dickens fable A Christmas Carol, this inanimate version is largely noisy, unimaginative, and almost completely forgettable. Inside jokes about Warner Bros. are definitely not targeted at kids, which is the same criticism one could leverage against much of what passes for kids' cartoons these days. If you must roll in the soot, get your little ones Ren & Stimpy's Crock o' Christmas instead. In comparison, it makes A Hip-Hopera Christmas show its true colors as nothing more than a manufactured vehicle to sell more empty calories and junk to kids. --Martin Keller --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

2 out of 5 stars Not like the others.......2002-08-31

I am an avid Animaniacs fan and was very disapointed with this cd. I was really being nice by giving it two stars. To those who are interested in this cd because of the Animaniacs Christmas Carol episode, don't be fooled. This is nothing like the show, which was a major let down. There is hardly a trace of the famous Animaniacs zany-ness we all love. If you want a hip hop version of the famous story, this may be for you. But to all those who had higher hopes, buy the Helloo Holidays movie and enjoy the season in a truer Animaniacs fashion.
