Album Description
Starfishing is the second recording by the national award winning group, The Green Chili Jam Band. It was awarded a 1994 Parents' Choice Gold Award and a 1994 American Library Association Notable Children's Recording award. It was also chosen by the Menasha Public Library in Wisconsin as one of the top ten best music picks for kids.

This recording contains twelve original musical selections and one story including the title track "Starfishing" and "Toothless". The story, "The Girl Who Loved Shoes" is a whimsical look at imagination and sharing. Ideas for using the songs in the classroom are available on the group's web site.

Known for their "sparkling wit and wordplay" (Booklist), The Green Chili Jam Band all profess to have been children at one time. --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

Green Chili Jam Band has become my daughter's favorite CD. If she is crying, all I have to do is turn on this CD and she calms right down. My husband and I sing the music to her with and without the CD. They lyrics are fun and easy. The music itself is great to listen to. Her (our) favorites are Toothless, Boo Boo Truck and Starfishing. We've even got our friends and the grandparents hooked on the CD.

I can assure you that the band's songs appeal to children from 2 to 62. The songs sparked discussions with my grand daughters which gave me rare insights into their imaginations and thoughts on the world. That may sound very 'deep' but it was really just good old fashioned fun, sharing, and lots of laughter.

A delightful CD that parents will enjoy as well. The arrangements are unique and the sentiments are lovely. You'll find yourself humming selections and actually not minding. A very welcome break from offerings from the usual places.

This is truly one of the best children's recordings we've listened to, with broad appeal to all ages (including us adults!) Great variety in music styles, intelligent lyrics, great musicianship, down-to-earth artists (they answered my e-mail). I ordered it after enjoying the public library's copy for awhile.

this is excellent music, light and tight harmonies and clever lyrics! both the adults and children in our home love this cd and the band who created it.
