Now seven years strong, the WOW Gospel collection never fails to disappoint as it showcases the previous year's best and gives fans a hint of what is to come. The 2004 release, like its predecessors, offers a wide variety of styles all embedded under the "gospel" tag. For the more traditional fan, try on the widely popular Blind Boys of Alabama as they "Wade In The Water" or Richard Smallwood with Vision's "My Everything (Praise Waiteth)." ‘Change’ the title track is a song you must hear. It will really make you think and repent if your life is not right with Christ or your spouse. Praise Party will get you out of your seat and make you wanna dance and praise God. "What Have I Done" is the first song on the album, says Mel, because it explains how God blesses our lives daily, that many times we don’t deserve, but he continues being there for us through thick and thin. The WOW series is great for people who want to have a wide sampling of what Christian music has to offer. There are some great songs on this album, and be warned - you will probably be running out to buy some more albums of the artists included here (especially Jeremy Camp). Also, check out the songs of Recent Rainfall which used to be in the Amazon free downloads section. You can now find them on www.recentrainfall.com Keep on praising and worshiping the King of Kings!

Another Blessing WOW'd Upon Us.......2004-07-27

WOW chose some really great artists for this two disk set. I preferred disk one, but both disks had praise that filled my spirit with God's love and kindness. I've seen several of these artists in concert and I was reminded of how powerful God's spirt can touch my soul when I dedicate some time and receive what God has blessed them with. All the lyrics are included with the CD and I enjoyed reading them as I listened. Maybe not quite as good as their yellow disk, but very comparable.

REVISED review as of 05/03/2004...

This compilation, full of heart-warming praise and worship, deserves a higher rating than initially given especially after listening and enjoying both CDs during my quiet time. While playing in the background, it help set the mood in refocusing my thoughts as I went over CLASS 201 notes.

We are so undeserving of His love, yet He is so giving and forgiving.

I now listen to it over and over again.

To my surprise during yesterday's service in the Overdrive venue @ Saddleback, they played my favorites and I knew all the lyrics thx to this compilation which unknowingly prepared me. 8-)

I like the various artists and styles of worship. This may rate higher in time as it usually takes a while for the different songs/styles to soak in. Although I do have my favs. ;-)

We are the children of light Says the Holy Bible, if and we are the children of the light than this music is definetly a tool to keep us on the straight paths that God wants us to walk on. This music is so filled with the Holy spirit, and it gives you such a blessing that I highly recommend this to any christian, Blare this from you homes, or cars, let his word fill this world as should it do, as it does. Holy be his name.. The cd is also very worth the price you could pay for this 34 songs..amazing

Jump5`s "Why Do I Do" really had a big influince on me.It has to be my favorite song on the cd.Jump5 is a great contemporary group that sends out a positive message.You may also want to check out some of their other songs:Spinnin Around,All I Can Do,Wonderful,or God Bless The U.S.A.

Can you believe I like that many? Pretty cool huh? - a WOW that has great songs almost all the way through! I don't even like a lot of those artists or their regular music, but this WOW takes the VERY best and includes them! Even if you aren't into WOW CDs, you still should get this CD - it's fantastic! Every year they have just been getting better and better, and I can't wait to get WOW 2005. It seems that that one is the very best, but I think out of MY collection of almost all of the WOWs - THIS one is the BEST!! If you just starting getting into WOW and are wondering "Which WOW should I get" (I know I did and I was confused), get WOW 2004 ~ I'm sure you'd like it most! Well, thanks for listening to my blabbering, and I hope you will buy this CD soon!

This is a great CD. I just got it and I'm glad I did! I'm almost 13, and I belive this is a great CD for anyone. I like the layout of the paper insert. It shows a picture of the CD the song is from, then under that the song's title, the artist, and a short intro to the song, as well as a website of the artist.
I can't tell you all my favorites, I love almost all of them! I'll give you the titles.

Wait a minute...Wow Hits 2004, compiled in 2003? Is somebody getting a little presumptuous? The compilers have played it safe here, choosing only established mainstream artists to feature in this collection.

In past releases, Wow proved to be an excellent source where we could get a taste of new, up-and-coming or just plain too-quirky-for-radio artists. Sure, it made for some inconsistency in the overall sound, but it gave us a better idea of the diversity of Christian music out there. It gave the little guy a chance to get noticed and appreciated.

This is an outstanding collection of songs and artists, make no mistake about that. It just doesn't cover the same territory that past Wows have. This will be of great appeal to those who embrace the mainstream. Those of us who like to dabble outside that realm will be left slightly wanting.

I didn't let go.......2004-10-23

This cd is anointed. I listen to "I Almost Let Go" everyday as often as I can. I listen to it while working on the computer at work,at home while ironing, cooking dinner, cleaning the house.
This song is a testimony within it's self.
"You alone are God" is a great song to listen to before going into prayer.

Promoting Up-and-Coming Gospel Artist.......2004-08-26

One of the things I love about this and all the other WOW Gospel CDs is that it introduces us to new gospel artists that we may not of heard of before, and their music turns out to be great. Just because you don't know every song or artist on the CD doesn't mean you have to take away from it's great music and playlist. This is an awesome CD and I fully recommend it!

Dissapointed just by Playlist.......2004-05-22

The only reason I gave this 3 stars is because with or without this CD, gospel is wonderful. Otherwise it would be a zero.

My questions are, where is Byron Cage's "Presence of the Lord"?
Why did they put Kirk Franklin's old "Brighter Day" song on there? "Presence of the Lord" could have been there opening song.

Alot of the other artists were old timers... Shirley Caesar, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Beverly Crawford, and Lee Williams & the Spiritual QCs. And most of them aren't really my favorites.

Who in WORLD are TonHx (or do they mean Tonex?), Joann Rosario, Lamar Campbell & Spirit Of Praise, Ted & Sheri, Harvey Watkins, Jr.(feat. Doug & Melvin Williams), and 7 Sons Of Soul? Truthfully, I've never heard of either of them, not even on BET's Lift Every Voice.

Now I see why none of my family members have this CD. WOW! Gospel 2003 was much better. Save your bucks!

Best Companion at work.......2004-04-10

To keep the Lord on your mind and in your heart, you must own this 2-CD set. With songs like Hezekiah's "I need you to survive", Marvin Sapp's "You Are God", Smokie's "Still I thank you" this album is just a must to have to bring you back to gospel how it should be ( and those selections were just on the 1st CD!!!! Get it now, and see what you have been missing...

WOW Is Right.......2004-02-10

This is the best WOW Gospel compilation since the 2001 CD. I've listened to it almost every day since I purchased it. I absolutely love it and have recommended it to all of my family and friends who also like gospel music. I can't wait to see if they can outdo this one on next year's release.
