If you're looking to sample the Top 40 of today's Christian contemporary pop, look no further than Wow Hits 2003. Thirty artists and tracks on this diverse release provide enough musical flavors to whet your appetite. While it's not a true snapshot of the year's best, major labels EMI Christian, Provident, and Word combine to create a collection that certainly captures a good share of the market. Generations of CCM pop are represented here with big name acts Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, and Steven Curtis Chapman, alongside next-generation stars Third Day, Newsboys, Jars of Clay, and Point of Grace. Sweet-sounding highlights include TobyMac's "Irene," FFH's "Open Up the Sky," and Audio Adrenaline's "Ocean Floor." Nicole C. Mullen ("Talk About It") and Jennifer Knapp ("Say Won't You Say") also contribute worthy tracks and strong proof of the prosperity of singer-songwriters in today's Christian music. Also nice to see the inclusion of Paul Colman Trio's "Turn" as a bonus track, since the release was one of the year's finest moments for the genre. --Michael Lyttle

5 out of 5 stars I love Jump5`s "All I Can Do"!.......2005-08-14

Jump5 is the real deal on this cd!Their song,"All I Can Do" is absolutely WONDERFUL!They are a great contemporary christian group that sends out a positive message!

P.S.-If you want to get Jump5 music, get some of their cd`s!Here are the cd`s they`ve made:"Jump5","All The Time In The World","All The Joy In The World(Christmas","Accelerate","Mix It Up(Remixes),"Dreaming In Color",or "The Very Best Of Jump5".

4 out of 5 stars Pop and classic Christian sound.......2005-01-26

I have most of the Wow C.D.s, and this one remains my favorite. It stays true to Christian origins and lyrics, but keeps a bright, bouncy quality. Some of the songs performed by women are a little too close to the Spears/Simpson breathy and squeaky, but with singers like Jennifer Knapp (who sounds like the Dido/Amy Lee type), and the boy bands mimick NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys. Despite that, this Wow year one of the better ones.

3 out of 5 stars WoW! Um, how 'bout just "Hmmm!".......2004-02-08

For the seventh consecutive year, Wow offers a collection of highlights from the contemporary Christian music genre. As a whole, there's a nice mix of styles and artists here. The strongest tracks come from seasoned performers in this genre such as Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Jars of Clay, and Newsboys. All five of these artists have featured prominently in the Wow series, and will likely continue to do so. Jennifer Knapp, Selah, Rebecca St. James, and Audio Adrenaline also make a strong showing. Ironically, two of the best tracks on this collection come as bonus features, Chris Tomlin's 'Enough and Paul Colman Trio's 'Turn.' Unfortunately, not everything is golden here. Some of the younger artists like Zoegirl, Jump5, and Stacie Orrico have much to learn from their more mature peers in the industry. In a genre vulnerable to saccharine overload and lyrical cliches, this collection suffers from Christian music's inherent weakness, the difficulty of offering a fresh, meaningful perspective on life as a child of God in a musically inventive or original way.

5 out of 5 stars PERFECT.......2004-02-04

5 out of 5 stars Great for anyone.......2003-09-28

This cd is a great representation of inspirational music. No matter how I feel the Wow complimation makes me feel that much better. I enjoy most of the groups. The songs seem to get better each time I listen to them. Most people who think of Christian music think of songs that lack a good beat and have the same message. The wow collection can get you into the groove with a great message that doesn't drown non Christians. Anyone who wants to feel better or has been down this is a must buy.
