Perennial: Songs For The Seasons Of Life
Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
Inspired by her home's perennial garden, resurrected each spring with little maintenance, Twila Paris embarked on recording both old and new hymns that reflect such necessary and comforting cycles. The companion to her daily devotional book, Perennial: Meditations for the Seasons of Life, Songs for the Seasons of Life is the second volume of her Sanctuary series, specifically made with church use in mind. While not her most powerful work, Paris's original hymns blend nicely with traditionals, creating a space and mood for worship. Standouts are "Be My Vision" and "My Lips Will Praise You." --Paige La Grone

Soothing, Worshipful Music.......2003-08-25
Twila Paris has become my favorite Christian singer and songwriter of all time, although there are others that I love as well. But Perennial is my all-time favorite album, mostly because, when I need something to soothe my soul, "Perennial" is what I turn to. It has a great mix of songs, both favorite hymns, and other worshipful Twila Paris songs. I can listen to "Perennial" over and over and never tire of it.
...To powerful to be spiritual!.......2003-07-13
Wow!!
A very awesome collection of songs! The cd opens up with a song titled: We Seek His Face. It is a very impressive song and happens to be one of my favorite. The choir backing up Twila's voice give the song a more 'powerful' feel and makes you feel like you are in heaven! The arrangement and melody of this song is beautiful and deep. Another standout track is My Lips Will Praise You. I am sorry, however, that this single did not make it onto the Greatest Hits cd! :-(
It should have been, since it is a very moving song that moves the soul closer to God. I am sure I am not the only one who shedded a tear when I finished listening to this song! This album should be considered one of the best Christian albums in years!
This album is quiet and most of the songs are ballads, but it's what I want to listen to... Twila is the only Christian songwriter, that I know of, that writes deep music. It is something I can feel when I listen to her songs, no other Christian artist or songwriter can do that! Enough with the silly soundalikes like Backstreet Boys, N'Sync and Britney Spears and so on and so on! Her songs are real and powerful and it is a gift that she shares with us! God bless Twila Paris for her songwriting!
Twila - The Best Modern Female Christian Vocalist Ever.......2003-03-17
This is the most beautiful collection of songs ever. I especially enjoy "Come Thou Fount" and "Be Thou My Vision." While I always enjoy her original work (she writes most of her songs!) this album has touched me especially. Her music is annointed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Her sweet voice has such wonderful range without being shrill and her music has depth, not the shallow stuff some CCM artists put out today. Twila is definitely THE best female singer in CCM today!
FROM THE GARDENS WHERE WE FEEL SECURE.......2003-02-08
I discovered this CD in a London shop where they sell a lot of unknown stuff for 2 dollars each. And I like to find things then try and contact the artiste and get them to sell me autographed things. As a collector this is what appeals to me most and I have met many in the music business that way. In fact my favorite American singer Ginny Wright is now my best friend and I visited her for a week last Summer.
I noted that Twila Paris now even has the same surname!!
Ginny made a Gospel album in the 80s and did a version of When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder. Ginny always was one of the most moral artistes in the business,in her case country music.
Another very obvious thing I noticed about this CD was the Virginia Astley link with a Garden. I knew I would like this album and I shall try and get more.It took me all afternoon to find that Twila Paris has a website
All I can say,as a lapsed Catholic,is that Twila is enough to turn a man religious!!!
Twila Paris - Perennial: Songs for the Seasons of Life........2002-08-16
Twila Paris is definitely my most favourite female Christian singer basically because she writes her own lyrics and her voice is phenomanel! I have several CD's by her, including the Collectors Series one and two, "True North, Where I Stand" and "Beyond a Dream"
