Morning Light: Songs to Awaken the Dawn

A companion to Steve Green's book of morning devotions coauthored by Michael Card and other members of the Christian men's group Fellowship of the Empty Hands, Morning Light: Songs to Awaken the Dawn is what Green might well call vertical music--that is, music to elevate one toward God. Each of the dozen songs serve as first prayers of the day: to rededicate oneself to praise, worship, and renew one's relationship with the Heavenly Father. Arrangements are simple, yet polished, and include a contemporary version of the oft-sung "Doxology," a rendition of Cat Stevens's "Morning Has Broken," a duet featuring Twila Paris and an a capella choral arrangement of marvelous harmonies. Green's centered vocals--strong yet never showy--serve well here to illuminate a life begun each day in faith. --Paige La Grone

Awesome CD! From the soothing guitars and up-beating South American-style songs to peaceful orchestrating, Morning has Broken is great for any time of the day! It brings you closer to the reality of worshipping God and giving Him a special time for devotion, communion, passion! Congratulations to Steve and his team for keeping up their good work throughout their productions. Take a time to let your spirit soar in the wings of the morning to lift up the Most High!

5 out of 5 stars Another Inspiring CD by Steve Green!.......2000-07-18

I have long been a fan of Steve Green and his magnificent vocal talent. Listening to Morning Light is a great way to start the day. I find myself listening over and over. My favorites are Doxology and Morning Has Broken. Green's peaceful music and beautiful lyrics inspire one to spend time in silent worship and praise every morning.

5 out of 5 stars Revealing God's kindness........2000-05-26

Praise God for this CD! In few words, this CD reflects God's kindness. Very uplifting and soul soothing. Really can't get tired of listening to it. Steve Green touches essence - GOD. Steve makes it explicit that God is center of this CD (period). Just can't miss it. Great job Steve. Worth every penny (actually worth much more - these songs have everlasting value). Steve really loves the LORD. If you really love the Lord then you just can't be silent about Him.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life."

John 3:16

5 out of 5 stars Wow!.......2000-01-24

Steve Green is the epitome of all that is worshippful music! His voice is second to none and it shines through on this album. I've never heard a recording that was so totally focused on God and on our relationship with Him. Way to go Steve! I hope that there will be many more recordings like this one.

5 out of 5 stars Takes you to your First Love.......2000-01-07

This CD really takes you to your First Love, the Lord Yeshua. It in no way points to the artist, but focuses completely upon our Lord. It is a powerful CD that will help you enter into the presence of God during your devotional time as well as helping you enter into worshiping God.
