Classic Everly - A Must for all their Fans.......2007-02-18
Treat yourself to the sweet harmonies of the Everly Brothers, with a CD that has been remastered to underscore their pure sound. Played this for my musician son in law who was not familiar with their music and he is so impressed. All the hits are here, sounding better than ever. An outstanding addition to your collection --
The BEST Everly Brothers album you will ever need, .......2007-01-10
Long ago in californialand, i heard the last everly brothers "hit", on the wings of a nightingale, 1 time and i knew I HAD to have it. Took me about 20 years to find it, in this album. If you really like good music, with tight harmonies, good guitar work, words you can understand, a little bit of country and early rock to the still bitchin, fresh, updated sound of nightingale, then STOP RIGHT HERE and get this album. Enough said!
Everly Brothers, best of.......2007-01-09
The Millennium collection seems to have the songs I always want from a group or artist. The quality of the sound is there everytime. As the local music stores disappear it is good to be able to trust a system like this as I replace much of my vinyl for a CD collection. This CD gives me what I want for the Everly Brothers in one purchase.
The Best.......2004-04-01
Any fan who appreciates the Everly Brothers has to have
this album. The remastered sound is superb of course, but
the deciding factor on this one should be the inclusion
of their last hit, after more than 20 years had passed since
their previous one.
After the team reunited, one of their biggest fans wrote
a song especially for them. Paul McCartney wrote "Wings of
a Nightingale" for them, and it is a truly beautiful song
that displays their harmony at its best, and the song is
not usually found on other collections.
Get the best of all their classic early hits, plus this
last hit.
A must have for any fan.

Faith by Avalon.......2007-03-29
I really love this CD it has a vatiety of old & new music, I will buy more CD's by Avalon, I find it good to drive too, also it helps when you have things on your mind to know we are not alone with the Lord, Amen. Thanks Avalon & Amazon.
Hallelujah!!.......2007-03-24
I usually do not write reviews, I'm usually the one who reads them. But this CD is definitely worth writing a review on. This is THE BEST Avalon CD made. It is a worship CD. It is fall on your face, worship music with some praise in between. If you don't have this CD you need to get it now...go get it...what are you waiting for??:)
Avalon has done it again! by BJ.......2007-03-09
I think I've written a review for almost every Avalon album, including Jody's solo CD. On every one of these reviews, I've told you about how phenomenal this quartet is. With this release, they step it up one notch higher! Their voices and harmonies are spectacular. Every song is terrific, ESPECIALLY tracks 2-8, 12, and 13. The only disappointment for me on this album was "How Great Thou Art", which was hard to sing to at first because of the different arrangement. Greg's breathy voice on this didn't help, either. I like his voice on all the other songs, but this one just didn't work for me.
I was overjoyed when I found "For Freedom", the bonus track, on the album. I had heard it before on my local radio station near May of 2006. I remember the DJ saying: "And stay tuned this hour for a brand new single from Avalon" and I was so happy! (Of course, I'm mad at my radio station because it's now March 2007 and they STILL have not debuted "Orphans Of God" from "Stand" yet!) Anyway, "For Freedom" is a definite highlight and will beg for tears every time it is listened to.
Overall, this album ROCKS!! Avalonians and other people alike will enjoy this collection of timeless hymns sung by one of today's top Christian artists! :-) [...]
Outstanding.......2007-02-08
This is a fabulous collection of hymns, both old and new, sung in a fresh new way by the 4 outstanding voices that comprise Avalon! Awesome!
They just keep topping themselves!!.......2007-01-19
Ok so i bought "Stand" and wrote a review on it and said it was the best Avalon album yet..but after buying "Faith: A Hymns Collection" they have once again, topped themselves. Now being an Avalon fan, they really do no wrong in my eyes anyway...but i'm telling ya folks, they are untouchable on this one. I was really excited to hear this album when i found out they were recording it because i was really excited to hear their versions of classic songs. To me, i wouldn't have been interested in a hymns album that stuck strictly to the original arrangements. I hear those every sunday in church and wanted to hear them change it up, and that they did. Many of my favorite hymns are on here and there is not a single song i don't like. I had actually never heard "In Christ Alone" before or "Total Praise", both of which have become some of my favs on the album. Each song showcases the incredible vocal ability of each of member. One of my other favs on here was the bonus track, "For Freedom". I acutally do not have any members of my family serving in the armed forces, but this song still brought me to tears. The vocal arrangements combined with the orchestration make a beautiful song. So yeah, if you like Avalon at all, you need to pick this one up. You will not be disappointed. And if you never have listened to them, go on and pick it up and get your feet wet, you'll love them!!!!

The John Michael Talbot Collection focuses on his solo work for the Sparrow record label. These widely variant songs are culled from The Lord's Supper, half of the double-disc Mass in D Minor, through to 1990's quietly contemplative The Hiding Place. There are pieces performed in the folk-blues idiom, symphonic and/or choral arrangements, as well as dips into Celtic music, Renaissance-inspired harmonies, ballet suites, and Catholic worship songs. Despite these seemingly disparate styles, almost all are given Talbot's distinctively melodious vocal treatment and nimble picking whether it be classical, rootsy, or a custom blend thereof. There are few others who so thoroughly create the space for reverence and contemplation. And as with his work with brother Terry, the music, much based on biblical text, complex structure, and theory, is heads and shoulders above even today's most winning Christian pop. --Paige La Grone

The John Michael Talbot Collection: A Library of 35 Favoirite Songs.......2007-04-11
Excellent CD would highly recommend it. The selection is great and the songs are beautiful. The record label picked a wide selection of great songs from his massive music collection. His voice is so calming and the music is wonderful. A great CD for the person who is just starting a collection of Christian music.

John Talbot - Library Collection.......2007-03-11
As always, John Talbot is outstanding. This was quite a value for all of the songs on the 2-set CD.
uplifting.......2007-02-09
John Michael Talbot's beautiful voice shines through each selection making the entire collection a peaceful & uplifting gift to the listener.
So very peaceful.......2006-12-14
I actually bought this cd by chance. I was surfing on Amazon when I accidentally clicked on this album. I decided to listen to a few of the clips and immediately I knew I had to pick up this gem. Praise the Lord for music like this! In these times of cheesy commercialized songs, Talbot's music stands out with strong Biblical lyrics and haunting peaceful melodys. I just recently had surgery and during my recovery this album has brought me much comfort. I definitely recommend these 35 songs for your collection. Thank you.
Great stuff, if not what one might expect..........2006-06-22
I have heard John Michael Talbot in concert a few times over the past several years and enjoyed a wonderful worship experience. Though his Catholicism has some clear distinctions from my own Protestant beliefs, I find that Talbot truly has the heart of a worshipper, which will connect with Christians of all stripes.
From those experiences, I bought this album, hoping to hear similar songs. Much to my surprise, most of the tracks on this double album are huge choral and orchestra pieces, rather than the accoustic solo work of his recent concert tours. At first, I was disheartened.
However, the album has really grown on me. Though not at all what I was expecting, this is great music nonetheless. The sound is somewhat dated, but the music is brilliantly written and wonderful performed. This isn't appropriate as simple background music like some of his more recent work, but it's a great album in its own right and presents a good collection of some of his earlier work. I highly recommend it.

The Stanley Brothers' unique spin on traditional bluegrass, created by banjoist Ralph Stanley and his guitarist brother Carter, first emerged on record in 1947. Their intense, unearthly vocal harmonies and Ralph's distinctive banjo style accounted for much fine music over the 19 years that ended with Carter's untimely death in 1966. Ralph has continued for the past four decades with his Clinch Mountain Boys (Ricky Skaggs and Keith Whitley among its distinguished alumni) and in recent years earned acclaim within and beyond the growing bluegrass audience. Nonetheless, the classic Stanley Brothers recordings of "Rank Stranger" and "Man of Constant Sorrow," among many, continue to inspire country traditionalists, Americana acts, and younger bluegrass exponents. This superbly programmed three-disc, 60-song collection stands out as the first true Stanley Brothers career anthology, including the memorable "Little Glass of Wine" and the Columbia gems "The Fields Have Turned Brown" through their early '50s years on Mercury and their later work on both Starday and King Records. Included are unreleased material from the 1950s and '60s, including a 1961 live duet teaming Carter Stanley with Bill Monroe. --Rich Kienzle
Album Description
On the 60th anniversary of their first studio recording, bluegrass legends the Stanley Brothers are being commemorated with The Stanley Brothers: The Definitive Collection (1947-1966). Released to stores on February 27, 2007, just two days after Ralph's 80th birthday, it is the first comprehensive box set to chronicle their entire career. The Definitive Collection comes at a time when bluegrass is in the midst of a surge in popularity, started by the hit film and soundtrack O Brother, Where Art Thou? and continuing on with artists such as Dolly Parton, Alison Krauss, and Nickel Creek releasing critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums dedicated to the genre. Released 40 years after their last performance together, the box set includes songs from every record label they recorded for and rare live performances. The package is highlighted by three previously unreleased tracks and two additional songs that have never been available on CD before, as well as rare photos, many of which were culled from vintage song and picture books that were sold by radio stations in the 1940s and 50s and from the King Records photo archives. It also includes a biographical essay by bluegrass historian Gary Reid and a special introduction by Ricky Skaggs.
The Stanley Brothers are regarded as one of the preeminent groups from the early days of bluegrass music. With Carter possessing one of the finest voices in the genre and his brother Ralph's inspired banjo playing (his unique sound has come to be called "Stanley-style") the duo performed what is now known as traditional bluegrass. As Carter's melancholy voice brought sweeping emotion to a song, his brother Ralph's soared above; together they blended to achieve a most soulful duet. Said Carter, "We're the Stanley Brothers, that's the way I've always tried to work it--we have got out, I think, and developed a sound of our own. I think as long as you sing a song with the best feeling you've got, and if you do feel it, I think the people will know it and they'll call it whatever they want to call it."
Despite the fact that it's been four decades since the demise of the Stanley Brothers, a fascination with them and their music continues to grow. They have been enshrined in the International Bluegrass Music Association's prestigious Hall of Honor and are currently the subject of a critically acclaimed theatrical production called Man of Constant Sorrow. Over the years, artists such as Ricky Skaggs (who hit #1 with their "Don't Cheat in Our Home Town"), Patty Loveless, and Emmylou Harris have had significant hits by recording songs originally written or recorded by the Stanley Brothers. The duo also remains very much in the hearts of fans at a grassroots level; pickers at bluegrass festivals play their songs in countless informal jam sessions every weekend. This collection finally pays due to a group that shaped classic bluegrass and continues to influence each new generation of pickers and singers.
While they have been the subject of label-specific compilations in the past, The Definitive Collection is the only collection that spans their full career, amassing the most important, influential and beloved songs. Included in the set are classics "The White Dove," made in 1949, "Rank Strangers," "How Mountain Girls Can Love," "Pretty Polly," and "Oh Death." "Angel Band" was later featured in the award-winning soundtrack to O Brother. "I'm a Man of Constant Sorrow" was also used as the model for the version that was recorded for the film, and Ralph contributed a new recording of their "Oh Death" for it as well.
Stanley Brothers fans and music historians alike will relish the three previously unreleased songs unearthed for the box set; "Will You Be Loving Another Man" (1955), "Tell Me Why My Daddy Don't Come Home" (one of the first songs the brothers ever performed and finally recorded at a coffeehouse performance in Hollywood in 1962), and "Sugar Coated Love," (recorded with Carter's longtime inspiration, Bill Monroe). The two songs in the collection that have never been available on CD before are the gospel gems "Hide Ye in the Blood" and "Dust on the Bible."
Customer Reviews:
how can you miss.......2007-05-31
I do not yet have this collection. I have many of the pieces on previous compilations but just reviewing the song list gives me goose bumps. There is a ton of great material here, the Stanley Brothers are essential to any bluegrass or folk collections. There is a song Jacob's Vision, that I had on one of those bargain bin cassettes you see in truck stops. One of the most moving songs ever recorded. Looked for it for years after the tape broke and here it is on CD. Listened to a sample of that and it is the same song I have looked for quite a while. Buy this set now, you will not regret it for a moment. Cannot vouch for the mastering quality, the booklets or any of that, but the songs are great and have been scattered over many different labels for years. Here it is in one box.

Who dares trot out the contradictions between Jones's dissolute life and the sentiments of these songs when the man has always been such a True Believer of some sort? He calls this his musical response to the infamous 1999 car wreck that caused him to finally give up booze, caffeine, and tobacco. Circuit-preacher's son Billy Sherrill, who guided Jones's 1970s commercial ascension, came out of retirement to produce these 24 songs (on two discs) and, especially for a guy accused back then of gussying up country too much, he forges an austere sound. Jones's voice can't execute the many twists, turns, and tricks it once did, but it's still ripe with deep feeling; when he sings "I'm so tired and so weary," you don't doubt him. So forgive them both for trying too hard occasionally ("The Old Rugged Cross") and appreciate this for the old-school testimonial, musical and spiritual, that it is. --John Morthland

George Sings Gospel Greats!.......2007-03-16
This double CD was a real blessing - George's familiar voice combined with some of my favourite old time hymns - was pure nostalgic bliss!
Grandma's Favorite!.......2007-01-04
I purchased this album at the passing of my best friend, my Grandma. George Jones was her absoloute favorite, as well as old time gospel hymns that he signgs so beautifully on this album. We played this for my Grandma's services, and it was absoloutly perfect. It brought us all joy to know that Grandma would have loved it and the sound of George's voice made us feel like she was right there. Each song brought back memories of her and my childhood. This album was not only awesome, it was a blessing.
Why me Lord? What have I ever done........2006-08-29
Who else should sing these songs than someone who is seeking redemption. I don't know where Mr. Jones is in his spiritual life, but he sings these wondeful hymns with conviction. The
2 disc collection will bring a tear to your eye and a glow
to your hear.
Like a Good Whiskey....Better with Age.......2006-02-09
The urge to conpare the Possum to an old Whiskey is undeniable. He has, like a good bottle of Whiskey, aged wonderfully. The control that time has stolen from george Jone's vocal abilities, has been replaced with character. That's saying a lot for a man whose voice already had more character than pretty much any other country singer out there. These songs are done so nicely. His voice is sincere and strong, and you can feel his faith as he sings. My personal favorites are IF I Could Hear My Mother Pray Again, I'll Fly Away, Just a Little Talk With Jesus and When Mama Sang. I absolutely love this collection. I'm not an overtly religous person, and tend to keep my spirituality to myself, but found myself playing this set in my truck for several weeks straight...and doing so loudy. I made sure my mother had a set too, since she's the one who turned me on to Jones as a child some 37 years ago...one of the best things she ever did for me. If you like good old fashioned gospel songs...this will be a wonderful addition to your collection. If you're just a Possum fan...this will add some diversity to your collection. There's nothing like a sermon preached or a gospel song sung...by a reformed sinner. The relationship with the sin makes the sermon or singing that much better. This is money well spent.

This posthumous release gathers together the best-known inspirational numbers by "Gentleman" Jim Reeves, the East Texas troubadour who perfected traditional country's smoothed-out Nashville sound. With his inimitable velvety baritone, Reeves caresses each note in his signature laid-back style, performing with genuine confidence rather than smarm. "I'll Fly Away" marries Reeves's classic tones with Floyd Cramer-styled piano and "Padre of Old San Antone" captures the highly polished Tex-Mex flavor introduced by Reeves on his monster hit "Mexican Joe." "We Thank Thee," an eloquent ballad of gratitude, exemplifies the sophisticated country-pop that Reeves and contemporary Patsy Cline popularized, "In the Garden" shines brightly with ringing guitar coupled with Lawrence Welkian group background vocals, and "Trouble in the Amen Corner" is a first-class tearjerking talkie. --Paige La Grone

Jim Reeves At His Best.......2006-11-12
I usually do not write reviews (I don't do concerts either) but this one I could not pass up. If for whatever reason at the end of a hard day you need to relax, listen to this CD. The music has a most soothing effect and when it is over I feel real good. I am an avid Jim Reeves fan and his beautiful voice is always the key, but the song selections on this disc are wonderful.
All Time Gospel Favorites by Jim Reeves.......2006-03-13
We love Jim Reeves and his music. We just returned from a visit to a hospice where a close friend of ours is dying. We played it in our car going and coming. It is quite comforting.
Almost As Good As It Gets.......2000-01-29
The recording is excellent. Many of the songs I have heard before but there are some good ones that I haven't. I would recommend this to any Jim Reeves fan. I rated it 4 stars because I have the "Essential Jim Reeves" and I feel it deserves the 5 stars. This one isn't quite as good.
this is an excellant cd.......1999-02-01

Praise God.......2006-11-11
It's a great praise and worship cd to listen to whether alone or with friends!
Amazing Music, Powerful Message!.......2003-08-04
"Shout to the Lord: Platinum Collection" is a two-cd compilation of the very best from one of the most gifted, inspired worship bands in the world today (yes they are that good!). Based at Hillsong Church in Australia, this band, led by tremendously talented singer/songwriter Darlene Zschech. "Shout to the Lord" is the most well-known song from the album, but every song on both cds is amazing!
Each CD starts out with a set of about 4-5 really uplifting, energizing praise and worship songs like: People Just Like Us, He's Real, My Redeemer Lives, Touching Heaven Changing Earth, and God is in the House. (think amazing gospel vocals, dazzling guitar and bass riffs, with a driving beat and a great message of hope).
Interspersed on the CDs are also some more mellow, contemplative ballads, that brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart like: I will Run to You, Jesus, What a Beautiful Name, and Potter's Hand, among others. They are rich with beautiful harmonies, singable melodies and amazing but not overdone instrumentation. There are many songs on these two discs that are great for use with a congregation or group, particularly the more meditative songs like "Jesus What a Beautiful Name" or "I will Run to You."
This collection is powerfully moving, not to mention GREAT music, by amazing musicians. God is definitely "in the house" (quoting song of same title on the CD) on this one! Definitely check it out! You will be forever changed and uplifted!
Platinum Collection Indeed.......2003-06-26
This certainly is a moving album, having you hopping around your house, jumping, dancing, and praising the Lord! (And I don't even attend a church like that!) I scratched up my first disc so I'm looking into buying this CD again, but it's so hard to find! It's a shame that it's hard to find because this CD is certainly a classic. This is Darlene Zschech and Hillsongs' best album with all of their best songs. This live album makes you feel as if you're really in a worship arena. I prefer the first disc, but both CDs are a great blessing. A must for anyone who loves praise and worship music.
Shout To The Lord, Wow What a beautiful and all True Song.......2003-02-24
I haven't purchased the CD yet, but I love the song "Shout To The Lord." This song will truly get your spirit lifted and you'll be so amazed that the song seems like it was writen just for you to sing. I've always been a skeptic of my own singing voice even though alot of people have told me differently, but the Holy Ghost led me to record myself singing wth this song on my own personal cassett recorder. Though I'm not Nashville or Branson or Hollywood material, I really felt for the first time in my life that my singing ability in this song was really good! Praise Be To God!!!!!!! Glory to the most Holy...amen and amen!!!
Check it our for yourself, I'm sure you'll truly be amazed and you'll experience a closer-ness with the Holy Ghost for sure!!!!
ANNOINTED WORSHIP.......2003-01-02
The Platinum Collection is truly a blessed worship experience. The songs are all the best of the Hillsong Worship! This is the CD to take on a long trip. The way the songs are listed & played out flow really well. A must have in your Christian music library.

Good stuff, better than I expected..........2007-06-11
I bought this two-disc greatest hits collection for my wife, basically because we had both heard the song "Your Grace Still Amazes Me" and found it to be stunning. I was expectating a pedestrian album from a mediocre CCM group, but I found something much more than that. What surprised me most was how many of these songs I knew, even if I didn't love all of them. At the very least, it's impossible to dispute the fact that Phillips, Craig, and Dean have had a significant and influential career as a group, even if their songs outshine the reknown of the group itself.
To be sure, there is a certain cheesiness to some of the songs, and they have a very particular and almost formulaic style. Most songs begin with a soloist, then adding one harmony voice, and finally the third voice. Some of the accompaniment parts were dated and over-synthesized, but that was the sound when those songs were released in the mid- to late-1990's.
Having said that, I was surprised by how good most of the songs sounded. Though their individual voices are unspectacular, they make a great ensemble, and many of their vocal harmonies are tight and glorious. In fact, several of the songs give me "holy goosebumps" every time I hear them.
My personal favorite tracks are "Shine on Us" and "Crucified with Christ" on Disc 1 and "Your Grace Still Amazes Me" and "How Deep the Father's Love for Us" on Disc 2.
Overall, this is a wonderful album. I have really enjoyed just popping it in the CD player and singing along with this group that I didn't even know I liked. Even (and maybe especially) if you don't own any other PC&D albums, I recommend this compilation as a wonderful contribution to the Christian music world.
Awesome Collection of Songs by an amazing Christian Artist........2006-03-17
This is an awesome CD. It has a variety of worship and other songs that have helped everyone to grow and love Philips, Craig, and Dean. I used to listen to this group as a kid growing up and most of the songs on this CD have touched my heart tremendously. The song "Christian" is a great example of how we should share our beliefs with those who don't know Him. This song helps us realize that "being a Christian" is a great thing. The song "This Is How It Feels To Be Free" helps us realize that there is power, love, and forgiveness in Jesus who teaches us to forgive and love those people in life who do wrong to us. Another one of my favorite songs is: "Mercy Came Running" which helps us realize that God's mercies are new every morning--AMEN! Thanks be to God for His neverending mercy and grace. Oh yeah--there is also a bunch of modern day worship songs on this CD that everyone can enjoy! I give this cd--5 stars!~Tulsa Oklahoma

Good intro, but.......2005-08-24
The first 5 songs are top 10 hits +, but after that I went to fast forward.
Awesome.......2003-09-12
My parents listen to these good old boys and I grew up listening to them and my children are now listening to them. I went to a concert at the Ross Ragland in Klamath Falls,Or and I loved the bass he is so low you can feel it in your seat. All are cute too! Great albums
Elvira is cut short!!!!!!!!!!.......2002-07-25
The very end of the song where Richard hits the "bottom of the barrel" with his amazing vocal chords...is totally cut out! What a scam! I used to listen to this song as a kid and I feel I've been betrayed!!
MCA gets cheap?.......2002-04-28
The Oak Ridge Boys deserve to have at least one Millenium Collection released (if not more), but should it be done to accomodate MCA's increasingly cheap approach to older artists?
This collection would not be quite to bad if MCA hadn't released "The Oak Ridge Boys COLLECTION" nearly 10 years earlier. At least that package got original artwork and liner notes. When it became inevitable that the Oaks needed a Millenium Collection, what did MCA do? They simply pulled the 1992 "Collection" off the market (which had been certified Gold not too long before), slapped an old album photo on it (the original cover for "American Made," to be exact), and ever so slightly edited the track list. The result: a POOR excuse for a new release. All but one of the songs on this release appeared on the '92 collection ("Bobbie Sue," conspicuously absent from the prior release, and "Make My Life With You" are the only additions). Amazing, two of the Oaks' biggest hits, "Y'all Come Back Saloon" and "Thank God For Kids" were cut altogether (I guess to save even more money).
Even the liner notes are nearly identical to the '92 release. I see no reason for this total lack of concern for a top-notch group such as the Oaks. Since they have so many more hits, perhaps MCA will consider doing a Volume Two Millenium release (with a NEW cover photo and DIFFERENT song line-up!!)
Not just for country music lovers!.......2001-05-13
One listen to "The Best Of The Oak Ridge Boys - The Millennium Collection" will have you immediately hooked on the material, even if you aren't a fan of country music. What endeared many a fan to this legendary quartet is their unique brand of interwoven, finely homogenized blend of vocalization. Perhaps you could call the Oaks' the "Mamas and the Papas" or the "Three Dog Night" of country music. In this collection, you get eleven of their best known country tunes, plus the Oaks one and only crossover country-pop smash "Elvira", which features Richard Sterban's trademark bass vocals. I couldn't sing that low if my life depended on it! The saxophone playing in "Bobbie Sue" is reminiscent of The Coasters "Charlie Brown", which gives this track a jazzy-bluesy sort of quality. My favorite tracks in this collection would have to be "I Wish You Could Have Turned My Head (And Left My Heart Alone)", "American Made" (which was later revamped and used in a popular beer commercial), "Trying To Love Two Women", "Fancy Free" and "Make My Life With You". The other tracks featured in this greatest hits collection are worth the money as well, so you'll derive great listening pleasure, as well as get more than what you pay for with this one of a kind body of work from one of country music's biggest legends. This could be a five star review, had MCA included the Oaks' two most endearing favorites "Thank God For Kids" and "Everyday", but MCA sort of dropped the ball on this one. Although The Oak Ridge Boys have enjoyed a rather fruitful career over the years, perhaps their most notorious act was when Joe Bonsall, Duane Allen and Richard Sterban dismissed fellow longtime member William Lee Golden in the mid-'80's for refusing to shave off his trademark shepherd-like, salt and pepper beard. C'mon guys, that's like asking Alex Trebek to do away with his "flavor saver", or even asking Kenny Rogers to shave off all his facial hair! The group then replaced Golden with a dark haired guy with no facial hair, who, in photographs looked so out of place in this band. By the time the '90's rolled around, Golden was later back with The Oak Ridge Boys, but the group failed to recapture their late '70's/early '80's chart success. This Millennium Collection CD belongs in every country music/Oaks' fan's, and in some cases, pop music fan's CD library. You better not wait too long, because "The Best Of The Oak Ridge Boys - The Millennium Collection" might not be around for the next millennium! As they say down South, "Ya better git while the gittin's good!" In English, that means "Order yours today (while supplies last)!"

For the Good Times, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.......2007-05-09
For Al Green Fans such as myself this is the only album you will ever need. There is no other Al Green Album that you can get all these heart felt, soulful tracks on. All you have to do is pop this one in and make love to your mate all night long......just a side note, Ruben Studdard is an amateur singing "How can you mend a broken heart" compared to one of the masters of silky smooth soul.....Al Green.
Wow!!.......2007-03-23
Al Green is the man. This album is the one you can relax with in a state of euphoria. Love it.
Love Al.......2007-03-09
Great collection for people who just want to love and be loved by Al.
Ahhh no, Where's "Simply Beautiful?".......2006-03-18
I can easily rate this a 4 w/o hearing it. The only reason I didn't give it a five is "Simply Beautiful" was not included. This (recently) because my favorite Al Green song and definitely needs to be heard by others.
Smooth love songs takes you back.......2003-02-08
In the 70's I grew up listening to Al Green and other smooth singers. At this day and time it sounds good to hear about loving somebody with all your heart and feeling it when you hear the music as well as the words.
