What else is there to say about a Billy Crockett cd? Everyone mentions the excellent guitar playing, but there is more to his work. From the first note, he carries you away to a better, more thoughtful, place. I think I am a better person because of this music. I notice the greatness of being alive. The small things in life mean so much and he won't let you drift mindlessly anymore. "Tune your heart to the birds that fly out on the edge of the deep blue sky..."

The first ten notes of "Come and See" can break any bad mood. This is good medicine! "Song and Dance" is a great guitar tune and melody. "The Wake Up Song" is very reminiscent of "Marketplace", a highlight on his Surprises in Disguises. "Are You" and "Friends at Last" are both heart-filling songs. "Thankful Boys and Girls" is a great message to the kid in all of us. Life is beautiful and we don't deserve it, so appreciate it! Picket fences, puppy noses, shadows and memories. Wow. Those are some good things. How about sugar? Where is sugar? Sugar is not in the song. "Kisses on the mouth" doesn't count. I am thankful for sugar, too.

Buy any of his cds and I guarantee you will buy another one. Actually, Any Starlight Night is my favorite. That or Watermarks is the place I would suggest you start. This cd is sweet, but more eclectic than Starlight or Watermarks. Billy was my musical hero from the moment I heard Surprises In Disguises. I'm glad I found him so early on and I wish he was more appreciated. He is more deserving that lots of other "stars".
