About the Artist
Marlena Smalls formed the Hallelujah Singers in 1990 to tell the story of the Gullah culture through song and story. Since their creation the Hallelujah Singers have appeared in the motion picture "Forrest Gump" (with Marlena as Bubba's Mom), on Good Morning America, the Today Show, and around the world for many thousands of fans as well as heads of state.

I WOULD LIKE TO WRITE A REVIEW, BUT I NEVER RECIEVED MY CD. I PAID FOR IT WITH MY MASTERCARD. EVERY TIME I WOULD CHECK FOR IT IN 'WHERE'S MY STUFF' THE EXPECTED DELIVERY DATE WOULD CHANGE. NOW WHEN I CHECK FOR IT, I CAN'T FIND IT IN NONE OF MY ORDERS. IT WAS ORDER BACK ON OCTOBER 3, 2002. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPEN TO IT OR TO MY MONEY. PLEASE E-MAIL ME WITH A RESPONSE.

This CD is almost as good as being at the concert itself! Marlena Smalls and the Hallelujah Singers do a wonderful job of sharing the Gullah culture with their beautiful harmonizing and colorful stories. Marlena Smalls shows her true talent as an actress with the entertaining dialogue that is sure to please. This CD is a family favorite in our home, and I'm sure your family will enjoy it, too.

Just had the opportunity to hear Marlena Smalls and the Hallelujah Singers in concert! A spectacular performance - and I wanted a CD that would capture the feeling of the concert. This CD of their Songs of Hope, Faith and Freedom does not disappoint! The music presentation is as inspiring and energizing as the concert! If you want authentic GULLAH music, this group and CDs won't fail you!
