Gospel diva Vickie Winans puts on the glory for her Lord and her hometown on Live in Detroit II, as she did with its multiple-award-winning predecessor. While this concert, recorded in late 1998, isn't quite as fiery as the first, Winans does a fine turn here with neotraditional arrangements of public domain hymns "Already Been to the Water" and "Old Gospel Medley," forming the core from which she witnesses. "Safe in His Arms," based on Psalm 23, is a sophisticated ballad with a build reminiscent of her early signature cover of Dottie Rambo's "We Shall Behold Him." But the real treat here is the transition from Winans's heavy breathing into to the choir-strong Marvin Winans gem "Ain't No Need to Worry" into hand-waving, hollering testimony into a super funky, scratched-up remake of James Cleveland's holy rolling "King Jesus." --Paige La Grone --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

If you don't know her or have never heard her, you will be Blessed! The anointing is Great! and Powerful.This CD will set you free to Worship.Find this CD when you can, and put it into your CD Collection Today.I recommend for all Gospel singers,ministeries, or choir directors interested or searching for another CD or project, this is it!

Best I've ever heard, especially the song Oh What Love. I had the cassette, it was destroyed in the car from the heat and can't get another Live in Detriot, (cassette tape). I would love to know how I could order this especially if you have a the longer version of Oh What Love.

When you listen to the dynamic sounds that the Lord has blessed Vickie with, you can't help but move. This CD has truly blessed me. I can just sit and listen to it, over and over again. I find comfort in the beautifully arranged sounds of Safe in His Arms, for truly we are safe, and He keeps us day after day. Vickie exhibits so much energy on this CD, that you can't help but pat your foot,clap your hands, and give God the highest of all praises. Thank you for blessing myself as well as others we appreicate,love and adore you.this cd has inspired and ministered to our hearts. I would like to say thank you also for my little neice who just turned 3 this year. Alexis, we call her(juicy fruit) She Loves "KING JESUS ". shocked me real good when she and some of my family came down to visit for Christmas i put the cd in and she just started shouting all over the place, me not knowing that she already knew about the song really suprised me she was singing the words and just bouncing all over the place it was a sight to see and she didn't stop until the song ended. She got us all excited and we all started shouting and singing around the house with her. Thanks for making our christmas fun! I love the entire cd i like to hear O Holy Lamb while i'm in my prayer and worship at home.It helps me to get through my time with the Lord. Thank you once again Vickie.When you got it you got it, and it is a blessing to have it. Lords will, I will see you on Easter sunday at our church (Mt. Calvary) where Bishop Norman L.
