BEST GILDA THERE IS.......2002-09-26

ok, Protti is not great, but not bad either...and ofcourse, Kraus is consistent and proves to be a prince among tenors...but it is d'Angelo who really makes this live recording... her Caro Nome is ABSOLUTELY EXQUISITE...we don't get live singing like that these days (I've heard Andrea Rost, R.A. Swenson, et al)...d'Angelo's shaping of the musical line is to die for as are her timbre and sense of drama...the death scene is also unforgettable...get this, and you'll understand what I'm talking about!

So you want to sit back and relax and take it all in? This is a high energy experience with more twists and turns then the Cyclone at Coney Island. Breetles just turned the page with an impressive band including the incomparable Mr. R. Stevie Moore. "Take Freedom" is the social commentary on today's Der Homeland Security edict. "The Class" is a classic pop song that brings us face to face with our past. "Clever Combo" is the today's pop editorial that puts a smile on your face and keeps your feet tapping. Kudos to a great American band. Buy this for you and your friends....
