Editorial Reviews Composer/conductor Paul Terracini was born in Sydney, Australia in 1957 into a Salvation Army family. His father was a choral conductor and bandmaster for the organization, and Paul grew up in an atmosphere of devotion to both religious faith and musical excellence. Paul studied music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and at Indiana University in the US. He previously held positions as Principal Trumpet with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House, and Lecturer at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane, Australia. He is presently Solo Trumpet and Chairman of Programming for the Danish Chamber Players. A much sought after composer, arranger and conductor, Pauls music is now heard around the world in a wide range of genres ranging from chamber works to film, television, jazz, choral works, and symphonic settings of sacred music. During 2000, he was commissioned to arrange and conduct a new chamber version of Rossini's opera, Otello, a project which attracted considerable international attention at its premiere in Copenhagen in September 2000. As arranger/orchestrator and conductor, Pauls recordings include the three album work The Praise Symphony Project (Coventry Music), As Incense - The Songs of Scripture in Song (Integrity Music), Hymns of Our Forefathers, Vol. 1 (Bredon Hill Music), and A Symphony of Hope - The Songs of Geoff Bullock (Maranatha! Music). Paul Terracini resides near Copenhagen, Denmark with his wife and two children, devoting most of the winter months to composition, and the summers to travel and work in his native Australia.
