Debut CD for L5.......2005-03-08
This is Legacy Five's debut CD and it instantly became a hit for us when we bought it a few years ago. I've been following L5 ever since they debuted and they have just gotten better!
All members of the group have very strong voices and they blend very nicely.
I also have to say that there was not a song on this CD that I didn't like. They all have such a good quality to them.
There is a matching video to this CD and it has all the songs on it, plus a piano duet between Roger Bennett and Scott Fowler that is very humorous.
The thing about this group is that while they cut up a lot when they're not singing, when they start to sing, they are very serious about telling that Christ is right for any wrong.
I love this group and I urge everyone who loved the Cathedrals to listen to them. (after all, it's a few of the same people!)

Every Southern Gospel Music lover should have this CD! As the first CD released by this new group, it is TOPS! Roger Bennett & Scott Fowler were veterans with The Cathedrals, and have begun this new group, Legacy 5, that will climb the ladder in Southern Gospel Music. Each song on this CD has a very special message and will bless your soul! You will want to listen to it again and again.
WOW!.......2000-11-17
This is a great start for such a new quartet. Legacy Five does a great job of just good quartet singing. I'm a quartet fanatic and Legacy Five is another quartet that I will follow closely. The CD gets off to a good traditional quartet start with "Salvation Is A Miracle to Me", next is "Vessel of Mercy" which is a good song, but is a little draggy to me. I'm kind of a gospel music fan that likes fast songs, though. "God's Love" is a great song that should get some hands clapping. Although "I Stand Redeemed" had a great, great message, I find that Josh Cobb stands out a little in the group and kind of makes the song sound a little too painful, but I know that it is blessing hearts all over America and that's what's really important. "Strong In the Strength" is one of the best songs on the recording. If this song don't thrill you, not much else will. "Ever Since He Came" takes the listener back to the roots and features L5's fine baritone Scott Howard. He reminds me of Ben Speer & Doy Ott, so that just goes to show how good he is. "We Are Home" is a super song written by Roger Bennett in memory of the late, great Glen Payne. "Traveling Shoes" will definitely be a crowd pleaser and will make quartets jealous that they don't have that song. Scott Howard steps up again to sing "That's What Grace is For" and believe me, it's a real blessing to hear it. Bass singer Glenn Dustin has already convinced me that he is one of the finest bass singers today! He shows it when he sings "Steppin' Out On the Water". Then Scott Fowler does a super job on the song "I Believe". The Old Statesmen song "You Better Run" is superbly done on this CD, but you should really go hear them do it in concert with just the piano! Without a doubt, one of their best songs. Then the CD closes out with the reverent song "Forgiveness". If you like good traditional quartet music mixed in with good & decent modern music that doesn't overdo it, buy this CD. You won't regret it.
Still True Southern Gospel.......2000-08-30
This is a very good CD. I knew that the group had formed, and waited with much annticipation for their CD to come out. I was certainly not dissapointed. Most of us know Roger Bennett and Scott Fowler, Just so you know, the other guys are also "Top Quality" . I was impressed with the bass singer, since I am a George Younce fan. He has a deep voice, and good tone. As most of you know, not all bass singers are smooth easy to listen to singers when they are doing a solo, but this one is! The tenor has a strong high voice. The baritone is also nice to listen to when singing solo. The song "Salvation Is a Mirical To Me" is one we find someone in the house singing almost every day. The song that really touched my heart, is "That's What Grace is For". However, My FAVORITE is "I Believe"! Roger wrote this song, and several others. He is also doing more singing with this group. I think They have done a wonderful job! The name Legacy truly fits.

This CD is the best,I believe Legacy Five will be producing more inspiring CDs.All of the songs have Gods saving message in them.Josh Cobb for as young as he is is doing awesome. His beautiful tenor is one of the best.I have been blessed to be able to be in concert several times this year with them and was blessed to hear them at NQC.Rodger Bennett and Scott Fowler you are the best and Glenn Dustin and Scott Howard with their beautiful voices are a great addition to this group. The moving songs of "thats what grace is for","I Believe",Strong In the Strength"I stand Redeemed"are some of the finest southern Gospel Music that you will find out on the market.I would recomend this CD to any one who Likes SGM to minister to them this is definately the one to buy. With Satin fighting like he has in Rodgers life with his cancer returning and God having the final victory with his healing and remission, you know it is a true work of God for this CD to propser and to minister to others. If you ever get a chance to be in concert with them I recommend for you to go see this group they do not hesitate for one minute to tell you about the blood of Jesus and his Saving Grace. You will be truly blessed.
