The picture.......2006-12-11

I haven't purchased the CD but the picture of the inside of a church on the cover is not of a British church, like one would assume since it says its a recording of British choirs. This picture is of Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Just thought i'd let you know. I'll be honest; I'm one to judge things by it's cover and if the company took such care to choose a 'British' church for their British choir CD, I'm willing to bet the music is equally well selected... I'm being sarcastic. But I gave the product 5 stars because I didn't want to hurt its ratings just because i'm cynical. But check out the church if you're ever in Montreal, it's truly beautiful... here I'm not being sarcastic.

Inspired!.......2005-06-28

The pieces in this wonderful album are presented with true spirit and tons of talent. As a whole, it gives the impression of real worship, and a celebration of the artists' faith. Lots of albums seem to showcase the performer's talent, but this one goes a step beyond and actually comes across as really worshipping God and giving honor to Him. Bravo to the many artists who collaborated on this inspired CD. It moves me every time I listen to it. It is what art should always be... inspired!

than this is the cd for you. It is filled with wonderful worship songs that drive us straight to the cross. My favorite one is "Merciful Rain" by FFH. I wasn't really familiar with most of the artists when I bought this cd. I had just heard the first song on the radio "God of Wonders" by Caedman's Call and knew God was speaking to me through it. I bought a copy for my friend and she loved it too. It is hard to find beautiful, up to date sounding Christian music so I was thrilled when I found this. There is a "sequel" : City on a Hill:Sing Allelujiah which is also good. Enjoy drawing closer to God when you listen to this terrific music.

City on a Hill is an exciting compilation of a new, fresh kind of worship music. The music is not tainted w/pop music beats and music, but is rather a clean mix of rhythm, simple lyrics and a slightly modern beat.

This music is not the typical "churchy" worship music. It is unique and stands alone in its own genre.

This is a great CD. It's great to be able to have praise songs with a beat. My favorite is Unified. Peter Furler did a great job with the lryics on Unified.

A great cd!.......2002-09-27

I have to honestly say that this cd went way beyond my expectations. I had thought we might get a couple of good songs, but this cd is full of them - with dream team-ups from some of the biggest Christian bands out there. "God of Wonders" starts this off and blows it out of the water. I also loved "I Remember" with Mac Powell's soulful vocals bringing the song into the level Gene Eugene wanted it to be when he wrote it. There are just too many good ones here to mention, but I have to say that if you like this sound, you should check out the two bands that the producers (Mark Byrd and Steve Hindalong) are in ("Common Children" and "The Choir" respectively). Both bands continue this vein of deep lyrics and great guitar work. While there just aren't any hard rockers on this cd, it's great for insightful lyrics and music for devotion time. Highly recommended!
