From the powerful ballad "Redeemer" to her 2004 hit "Music of My Heart", "Redeemer: The Best Of" showcases 15 amazing hits from this talented artist. With songs from her self-titled debut like, "On My Knees", "Black, White, Tan", "Shooby" and "Freedom" to lovely hits from her sophomore "Talk About It" like, "Call On Jesus", "Come Unto Me" and "Baby ". 5 of "Everyday People"'s songs got on there: "Message 4 Ya", "Bye Bye Brianna", "Without You" and "I Am". It also features her "End of the Spear Soundtrack" single "Always Love You" which is AMAZING! The only thing that confuses me is why the live songs? She should've included the hits "Witness" and "Everyday People" and if she really wanted a live hit, "Victory Chant". It just kinda bewilders me. But overall it's a great album and is recommended.

I love this CD especially because there are so many outstanding songs. I get chills listening to Reedemer, Call on Jesus and Music of My Heart. Great voice. I first listened to her Music of My Heart on the Christian music station on television. I immediately wrote down the song and name of singer and looked it up here on Amazon to hear some samples. I was in awe of this singer.

Really wonderfully beautiful Christian songs, and similarly wonderful voice. I also recommend her DVD 'Live From Cincinnati', very inspiring songs, plus you get to know her better thru her on-stage dialog (she seems like a similarly wonderful person). I pray she will continue her ministry thru song.

When I heard a few of Nicole's other CD's I kept thinking about how I could put together the songs I liked into one compilation. Well, well, here it is! This girl has a style and a voice I admire. I enjoy listening to her mix up the musical grooves from R&B, Hip Hop, Rock and Gospel using simple lyrics that tell a powerful story about faith, hope, love and God!

There comes a point in the life of most artists regardless of the medium, where all that is intensely personal comes bursting forth. Sharecropper's Seed (Vol 1) is that album for Nicole C. Mullen. She wrote or co-wrote every track, co-produced alongside a new producer and has fully come into her own as a writer and musician. Sharecropper's Seed (Vol 1) is pensive, beautifully lyrical, and touches the areas of life that mean the most to her; namely her family and her relationship with Christ. Younger listeners may miss some of the hip-hop sassy sounds that she is famous for, but adults especially, will love this album with it's folk-styled contemporary, ruminative and mature flavor.

Just over a year before writing this review, I didn't know much about Nicole C. Mullen, except for the song "Redeemer". At that time, I heard a song titled "Call On Jesus", which I fell instantly in love with. I think anyone can figure out that this song is on this project.

This album is as good as that song. The songs have something to say, dealing with various issues. My favorites are "Talk About It", "Call On Jesus", "Come Unto Me", "Sometimes", "Black Light", and "Heaven".

One comment on the song "Call On Jesus". When I heard it on the radio, it starts out with the drums establishing the beat. This version includes a 20 second string quartet intro that is just beautiful, before going into the drums.

I bought this cd 2 years ago based on a few clips I could download. I have a hard time choosing words that do justice to the power and the impact that the messages in her music send to me. "When you call on Jesus all things ARE possible".

For those of you who have children make sure that you listen to all of #14. She sings a bedtime song to her children that is so touching.

What a voice!!!!!!

Following her smash, self-titled debut album, Nicole C. Mullen took the Christian rock world by storm in 2001 with the release of the single "Call On Jesus." Quickly rising to the top of all the Christian charts, and staying there for many months, Nicole became a Christian household name. Nearly two years later, "Call On Jesus" remains one of the most requested songs on Christian radio stations.

This album, however, is much more than just that single. It contains a wide range of musical styles, from hip hop, to rock, to ballads. In addition, peppered throughout the album are little snippets that I can best described as a look into Nicole's heart (listen to "All Aboard," "#27," and "Jas Class," along with the end after "When Heaven Calls."

No matter what your musical taste, Nicole C. Mullen has not only included it on this album, but she has nailed each and every one. Without a doubt, one of the best releases in 2001.

SO MANY PEOPLE ARE CAUGHT UP IN THE TRADIONAL SOUND THAT THEY CAN'T ENJOY THE NEWER SOUNDING ARTIST BUT ITS ALL PRAISES TO FATHER GOD. HE IS THE BEST AND THESE ARTIST DO A GOOD JOB GETTING HIS WORD OUT IN SONG FORM.

The first song I ever heard Nicole sing was "Redeemer," and I was hooked! I went out immediately and bought the CD "Nicole C. Mullen." She soon became my favorite artist. I went and saw her sing in a "brown bag" concert in Houston, Texas. A brown bag concert is basically a single artist singing in a mall or a small outside location. She was just starting out at the time. She came out and everyone was excited. She sang outside. The temperature was about 65 degrees and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. She sang under a tarp canopy. Her voice was so full and rich that it resonated. I can't explain it in words, because I have never had that type of experience before. If you are a chocolate lover and I am, it is like drinking a warm cup of hot chocolate at the Ghiradeli Chocolate Factory in San Fransisco (multiplied by about a million). I bought her "Talk about it" CD as soon as it came out, and bought another one for her to sign at a concert she sang at Lakewood Church in Houston. I keep it proudly in a box with all my special memories I have had since childhood. I had the pleasure of talking with her after both her concerts I attended. She is just as sweet and beautiful as her music, if that's possible. I just saw she has a Christmas Album out, so I guess I will have to go buy that after I finish this writing this review. I love her music so much that my wife and I played a live version of "Redeemer" at our wedding. When I first heard "Redeemer," it touched me so much it brought tears to my eyes. I was just beginning my personal walk with Christ and I listened to this song over and over again. I didn't think you could wear out a CD, but I have replaced the two CD's twice. If you could imagine watching the most beautiful woman in the world, in a dress worthy of the Princess of Buckingham, walking up the aisle (crying because she loves you so much), you can catch a glimse of how powerful and beautiful Nicole's music is.

I can't believe this woman's face and reports of her music are not all over the place, in print and in other media! While much of Nicole C. Mullen's music is classically Christian, some is not and/or selections are considered 'cross-overs' from other genres. Nevertheless, her message--whether she composed it herself or adapted other peoples' music--is always respectful, celebratory and positive, inspirational and loving ... beautiful to listen to. The woman's talent deserves to be more widely recognized; legions of folks need to be enjoying her gifts! I can't say enough...

My mother purchased this CD after watching Nicole C. Mullens perform the song Redeemer. She has a beutiful, soft, peaceful, and feminine voice. I also enjoy the other songs on this album even the ones that deal with race and the way we act and treat one another. Nicole C. Mullens is not just a singer she is an artist and she expresses herself as such throughout this album. Not being trapped by traditionalism; she gracefully delivers a message of love for humanity, love for your neighbor, love for God and His love for all of us.

I just now ordered this cd mainly for the song "Redeemer". However, I listened to the other snippets online, I like some, dont like others. All of you who are complaining about her discussion of race, have you actually read the Gospel accounts of what Jesus said? He talked about everyday life that people could relate to, Nicole is just doing the same in her own way. Each one of us has a ministry, if this is hers, who are we to tell her no? None of us is in the position to tell another what they should do with the gifts God has given them, that is the work of the Spirit. If you don't like her message, don't listen, but I'd suggest we need to hear it sometimes. Remember, the most important thing: Jesus is LORD!

No matter who you are and what you like, you will connect to the words of Nicole C. Mullen. Everyone is on his or her knees once in a while. Everyone has had days when they lose all their strength. Everyone needs words of inspiration.
Some people might think this is a religious song, a spiritual song for the over zealous but it talks about life and nature giving us strength. We all have encounters with things that change us, make us different, and make us better. Everyone who has will relate to this song.
This song has reminded me of good times and bad times, but also reminds me that I over came those struggles, of the love that over came me, and "the power in the midnight". Whatever struggle you overcame, whatever pain you find yourself in, this song could be an inspiration to you. It will get you back on your feet after you have been on your knees.

Yes, I'm a Nicole C. Mullen fan, in case you can't tell by the other reviews I've done on her projects. This one further proves the point. If you like R&B Christian music, you'll like her.

Favorites include the cover of "Everyday People", "I Am", "This This", "Music Of My Heart", Goin' Be Free", "Deity", "It's About Us", and "Valorie".

Wow. What can I say? Nicole has a great voice and writes great songs. She wrote all of them except for "Everyday People", and they are just fabulous. I have her other album, Talk About It, and I have to say this one is a little different. I'd say it has a little more variety... some songs are more rap and some are just gospel, and there are some in between. She has so many different styles in there that it would please anyone. She has a twirly voice that just blows me away, and the lyrics are always touching. Some of my favorites are Message for You, This This, Music of my Heart, Bye Bye Brianna, Dancin' in the Rain, Gon' Be Free, and Valarie (which is like half the album!) I think this album came out September 2004. Overall it's great. You won't be disappointed.

I tried my best to appreciate the new flavor presented in this CD. Not! Couldn't do it. I am crazy about my other Nicole Mullen CD's, but I wouldn't have bought any of them if this one were the first I had heard. Maybe youth and inexeperience play a part here. Truly she has budded into a much brighter and more powerful talent today. I wouldn't even choose to group her other CD's with this one. It's simply not in the same class.

I think mrs. mullen has a lovely voice from the samples i heard she is starting to broaden her talents. I love to hear her give praise to the Lord.
I hope that she releases more album's soon but at the same time understand that raising a family take's time and devotion. So to her husband and her family may God continue to work in her life and her family thanks for the blessing of sound!

All the songs on this cd sound the same--like a dance mix. If you want to jump around for an hour or so, you may like it, but if you want some variety, get a different cd.

Nicole C. Mullen, Live From Cincinnati, Bringing It Home is an incredible CD. I picked this CD up one night while working the graveyard shift; I ran (okay, I actually drove my car) to the local Wal-Mart checking through the Christian music section for a good CD to keep me awake (the boss doesn't believe safety-naps are an OSHA regulation...I tried). Well, to make a short story even shorter, I ended up purchasing "Bringing It Home". It was my lucky (blessed, as we Jesus-Freaks might say) day:

This CD kicks, rocks, rolls, jams, delivers, moves, jams some more, and flows so well, I felt like I was at the concert; and I'm sure I wasn't. I've never been to Cincinnati; can't even point to it on a map, and I live in Indiana (Yes, I know Cincinnati is in Ohio, but I'm right next door)! :-)

"Talk About It" pulls you in, and you better "BE READY FOR THIS!" cause "ALL ABOARD, HERE WE GO! Doubletime! The fast paced, but oh so smooth delivery by Mullen grabs you from the get-go! And this is just the beginning of a CD that delivers time after time, song after song.

If you haven't heard of Nicole C. Mullen, or worse yet, you have heard of her, but you don't have this CD - BUY IT NOW! I promise you, the message and rhythm of "Color" (the second song on the CD) alone is worth the cost of the whole CD!

Nicole C. Mullen is an all 'round talented and gifted soul, her kindness and love towards people comes through her singing and storytelling. By the end of this CD I felt like I knew her as a longtime friend...after all, we have the same Father!

Honestly folks, this CD delivers more great music than most any other 3 CDs combined - "Call On Jesus" alone was worth the cost of the whole CD! But there is so much more; in every song, Nicole (see I'm callin' her on a first name basis now - cause we're brother and sister in Christ) delivers her heart and soul to your CD player. If you buy one CD this year, buy this one! It will bring a tear to your eye, and I guarantee it will keep you awake on the graveyard shift!

Nicole C. Mullen is one of my favorite female vocalists. Allow me, then, to state this is neither my favorite Mullen album nor my favorite Christmas album. That being said, this is still a good album and one I would recommend.
For me, the high point would be a pop/R&B Christmas album, and this is very good in that area. The low point is that it contains a lot of songs I'm not as familiar with.
There are some wonderful secular holiday songs, such as "The Christmas Song" (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire). For me, though, I am a Christian seeking a Christmas item from a Christian artist, and I personally would have preferred an exclusively Christian collection. This is nit-picking, and just my opinion.
If you are looking for a Christmas album for a gift, and that person is into R&B, I believe they would really enjoy the album, maybe more than I do. Forgive me if this review sounds negative: Nicole Mullen had set a high bar, and failed to meet that bar on this project.

I had never heard Nicole sing before, but was driving my car in an area where I did not know any of the radio stations, and was immediately captured by her version of Emmanuel. I listened to the radio station for 30 minutes waiting to hear a phone number, and when I did I called them to find out who the artist was. I am not typically an emotional person, but her voice was so beautiful I started crying during the song. I can't wait to hear the entire CD.

"I wish Christmas could last 365 days a year" sings Nicole..which may be why she's come up with a CD you'll want to listen to any time of the year.
Not your usual cheesy cash in album by any means...Nicole only ever disppoints if you expect her to be predictable.
If you loved her first two albums you'll love this one...even if you're reading this review in july!

I love Christmas albums. The day after Thanksgiving I pull out my Christmas CD collection to start out the season right. When I saw this particular album advertised, I just knew I had to add it to my collection. Nicole has a wonderful voice and she has a way of making you feel that you're right there with her and her family. I have two of her other albums and this one is just as fabulous!

I grew up listening to Perry Como and Bing Crosby at Christmas and their voices bring back memories, but when I hear Nicole's voice and hear the wonderfully refreshing Christmas music she has created on this CD I can not help but want to dance. So that is just what my daughter and I did as we decorated the Christmas tree.

If you are looking for Christams joy with a beat then you should buy this CD. And check Nicole out live if you can, you will leave with a smile.

Bernard really has outdone himself with this album. I love the fact that he decided to put words in selective tracks. I am not a huge instrumental music fan but I LOVE this album!! My favorites are "Christmas Prayer"--I find the lyrics to be soo true. "When the Battles Over", "Generosity", "Available to You"...I really should just list the entire album. Definitely worth the buy. You will be blessed by this album...

you think you've heard it all until you hear bernard harris.truly a work of art.track 1 with the only instruments being bass & drums is remarkable.for all you bass players and those of us that want to be bass players take note.and for those of you that just love music,tell me what you feel when you listen to this annointed music.(favour ain't fair)
