Customer Reviews:
"Hooch" is just the beginning of a great CD.......2002-09-02
This is one of those CDs that I bought based on only one song that I heard (Hooch) and figuring that I probably wouldn't like the rest of the CD. I was very pleasantly surprised. It took a couple of listens, but the rest of the CD has really grown on me. "Hooch" is definitely the big catchy "hit" song, the rest of the songs are slightly different than "Hooch", but they are mostly very catchy and very well made. One song, "Great Thing (St Luicia)", is definitely my favorite song on the CD - in fact I think it is *way* better than "Hooch."
Happy listening.
A Strong Showing.......2000-04-26
I first saw Everything perform almost ten years ago at a small bar in Norfolk, VA called Lewis's. I enjoyed the sound tremendously, and managed to catch them two or three more times before I moved out of the area. Then I forgot about them.
Fast forward until last year, when I stumble across this album in the bins of Tower Records in New York City. I put it in my CD player, and I realize again what a talented bunch of guys they are. Catchy tunes and skilled musicianship combine in original ways, creating fun and danceable songs. Highlights include "Be Gone," "Super Natural" and "Hooch." I like they way they draw in diverse musical styles, including jazz, funk, calypso and even zydeco, without turning the album into the unfocused mess it could have been.
This CD isn't perfect. Some of the lyrics are simplistic and forced (e.g., "Good Thing"), and some of the songs are just lightweight filler. But overall, it's a very stong showing and a worthy addition to any music collection.
Love it love it love it.......2000-04-03
If you've ever heard everything, you know that this cd was an exciting thing for them. Yes, it's a bit overproduced, but you have to be excited for the guys. From the cutesy song of Ladybug to Time Will Heal Me, you'll want to jam, dance, drive, or party with this CD. If you liked it as much as I did, go buy an older CD like Labrador or Solid...hear earlier versions of some of the stuff! They're a great band that's survived for years playing in holes like those on the Eastern Shore in Dewey Beach. And for those of you who have never seen them live - GO TO A LIVE SHOW! The energy is amazing, the fans are so much fun, and the music is better than you can imagine!
BEST CD EVER.......2000-01-09
This Is one of the Best CD's Ever Proud To Hsve This one in my Video Collection ONE of the Best Not my Favorite Buy James Bond Music.
"Bad Thing".......1999-08-12
Well, it's true that "Supernatural" has a way cool intro and that "Good Thing" and "Spent" have a cool metal edge to them, one of these songs has VERY BAD LANGUAGE at the end. Any cd that has that kind of language in it does not deserve any praise at all. There's nothing new in this cd, anyway, exept boring light-weight stuff. The only other compliment I can give it is that it has a secret song on it, and I think that's cool. But don't buy it. There's nothing you would love or anything on it. Don't buy it.

Customer Reviews:
One of Deitrick's best.......2005-09-24
Or should I say one of Voices of Unity's best because it's not just Deitrick's show here...in fact some of the better numbers have him playing a supporting role only. This CD is pretty heavily weighted toward uptempo numbers but the ones that are here are mostly great. Plenty of slammin' beats and production touches that keep pace with today's R&B underscoring catchy upfront gospel lyrics.
HIGHLIGHTS:
"Victory" blasts into your speakers with a fanfare and a hot hip-hop sound (down to the artifically sped up high harmony vocal that's been turning up on rap hits). It's a testament to Haddon's instrumental and production prowess since he doesn't sing on it but does produce and play ALL instruments. "Shake the World" and "Praise Up" are both gospel floor fillers. (It's Rochelle Bates on vocals for "Praise Up") The outstanding slow number is "When We All Get Together", imagining Jesus' reign when the things that divide us as humans are passed away. A Staple Singers-ish sound colors "Chain Breaker (Jiffy Cornbread Mix)", thanks to Sean Carrington's slinky guitar and some great call and response vocals from Bishop Clarence Haddon and Joyce Haddon (Deitrick's parents).
LOWS:
"So Good" is pretty bland..I can see why it's the "bonus" track.
BOTTOM LINE:
Very solid disk with some standout tracks and not much filler. This is one to own.
It was Jive.......2003-10-15
I love detrick Haddon's music, and i especially loved the chainbreaker cd, but every song, with the exception of number four, wasn't meeting the quota. Mabye his next cd will be good, but this one was disappointing for 16. Don't take it personally, i still love the brother's music.
Awesome Gospel !!.......2003-07-02
This CD is without a doubt a classic and truly awesome, giving praise to the only living God and Saviour Jesus Christ. Check out the Isley remix of Raptured Away, very very nice, and true ;) My favorite is Supernatural, it's got the old Michael Jackson flavor electrified with righteousness! This is getting major air-play in my Honda!!
Supernatural is Great.......2001-11-14
Praise God for Deitrick Haddon and VOU. They are inspiring and annointed singers who God is using greatly. Supernatural is a hit and I enjoy listening to their Holy Ghost filled music. It is the Annointing that makes the difference. Continue to let God use you Deitrick Haddon and Voices Of Unity.\O/ The music of Deitrick Haddon and VOU has a variety of music sounds focused on lifting up the name of Jesus. Pick up the CD and see for yourself. God Bless.
The young brother is truly anoited by God".......2001-10-23
I first saw Detrick on Bobby Jones Gospel. And thought he
had much potential and God was doing something with him
to the youth.Well through the years he has grown and grown
more mature in the Lord.God has truly annoited Detrick Haddon for this

Album Description
For Lisbeth Scott, her recent Cd "Fair Skye" is a departure from the norm. Well known in the Pop/New Age world for her previous and stunning release "Dove", and for her work on Windham Hill's "State of Grace for Paul Schwartz, Lisbeth takes a different turn with the music on "Fair Skye", creating a collection of pieces meant for healing, rejuvenation and a peaceful escape to one's inner landscape. Suitable for use with yoga and meditaiton, this music truly soothes the soul. The music on "Fair Skye" was created originally for the Sacred Lens recording "Healing Light" as accompaniment to the magical and physically healing guided imagery of Dr. Jan Berlin, and is now being released on its own. Turning to her Armenian roots, much of the text on "Fair Skye" is written and sung in Armenian, a lush and passionate language that lends itself to the spiritual nature of this release. For lisbeth "Fair Skye" represents her first journey into the world that combines both healing and music, her two greatest passions. Using the rich cello stylings of Nathn Barr, the intuitive and emotional fiddle playing Gave Witcher, and the lyrically organic flute work of Darryn Songbird, Lisbeth builds a beautiful tapestry of sound, the foundation of which is her own work on piano, guitar, harmonium, and of course, voice. "Fair Skye" is the perfect welcome to the dreamy, sensuous, and super-natural world of this truly unique artist.
Customer Reviews:
Fair Skye.......2005-03-30
Fair Skye is a gorgeous record meant entirely for healing, meditation, and yoga. It is so relaxing, yet overflowing with introspective music and lyrics. Much of Fair Skye is sung in Lisbeth Scott's native language, Armenian, a luscious, soft language which lends to the quiet passion of this beautiful release.
Love: The word "love" repeated over and over. You would think it would get annoying, but it doesn't. It's a very good intro. 3/5
Looysuh: Absolutely gorgeous. Ethereal, but with quiet strength. Pure, raw, wild beauty. "Beneath a golden sky, come with open heart..." 7/5
Flow: This is mostly instrumental, best for meditation. Very, very pretty. 4/5
Water: Started with fluid piano and later joined by other beautiful instrumentals, this is absolutely transporting. So amazing. 6/5
The Light: Fragile and soaring, and so pretty. "Fear not, children of the light..." 5/5
Home: Instrumental with a Celtic feel, totally and completely amazing. Makes your heart go wild. 5/5
Fair Skye: Also joined by a Celtic sound, Lisbeth's voice finds its place in this as well. Beautiful and moving. "Take me to the sun, and wrap me round the crescent moon, and teach me to be the one." 5/5

Edwin who?.......2007-06-14
Not Starr but Birdsong. This cat's got it! Super funky guit and soulful singing. Maybe Kravitz liked this guy. Wait a minute! Kravitz lifted a LOT offa Edwin. Search this one out, it's beautiful!
Great Funk Rock from the 70s.......2007-04-08
One of the great unsung funk rock albums out there. If you like guitar in your funk, that rocks but grooves look no further here. i wore the vinyl out on this one at least twice. Possible due to the limit original run and promotion it just did not get it's due. Rising Sign. Last Toll Before the Gate, Turn Around Hate are just rocker. At times the lyrics might not quiote make it but the music carries this one. If you like the rock vein of Funkadelic pick this up.

bad.......2005-08-02
very very bad mostly based on there voices good name in that sense thou super natural
Good, but what a price!.......2001-03-21
First the bad news: this CD starts with absolutely the worst opening track I've ever heard. I realize that it's supposed to be a joke, but keep jokes at the end of the CD, not at the beginning, folks! Luckily I have a three track minimum before rejecting any CD.
Another review indicates that this is a "listen-twice-then-throw-it-away" CD. Boy, do I disagree! This CD just grows and grows and grows on me. I'd never heard any of the tracks when I bought it on a whim (not for $!!) because one of my best friend's last name is Bennett. Thus I knew that I'd always be able to use it as a joke gift if nothing else.
Surprise, surprise. My friend will only get this if I find another copy. "If you met me, then you'd like me," "colossal man," "mum's gone to iceland," etc. are all wonderful songs. There is a similarity to several of the songs, but it's a stylistic and subject matter similarity that occurs with many bands who have a groove. If the sound appeals to you, the similarities are an advantage, not a disadvantage.
This is solid pop music. Interesting semi-quirky lyrics, guitars, harmony, what's not to like? Then when they add little things like the bell in "someone always gets there first," it's just the icing on the cake.
However, the cost here is a real detriment. I can't think of too many albums worth that much money. I really, really like this album (I listen to it at least twice a week at work), but can't recommend it for the price being charged
A disappointment.......1999-09-18
"Someone Always Gets There First" was an engaging, chugging single, and the one that made me go out and buy the album. And I liked it. Super Natural spread joy and excitement throughout my house for a couple of hours, with "Mum's Gone To Iceland", "Wanker" and "Norway Wife" being the absolute powerhouse tracks. The whole record was packed with yummy, cheery pop tunes boasting load guitars and cute, off-kilter vocal harmonies. Quirky lyrics, too. A treat. At least, then. But the music started to grate. Quickly. The melodies didn't seem to move anywhere. The songs didn't grow on me. I realized this was an album that should only be played twice and then torn to shreds - there was simply nothing to return to. If you want sunny, quirky power-pop with loud, melodic guita, try Weezer, Silver Sun or Fountains Of Wayne, who makes music that last a little longer than four hours. If you're too rich for your own good, buy Super Natural from amazon.com, play it twice and throw it away. Just for your own good.
