Dorinda is not only beautiful on the outside, but she radiates such a wonderful spirit and inner beauty that shines through. There is such an anointing on her voice and this CD is excellent. I listen to it from beginning to end. She's contemporary but at the same time, she does not forsake "traditional" gospel sounds. Dorinda really delivered the goods on this CD. Although, I am not surprised because she is from the legendary Clark sisters. Karen and Dorinda are my favorites. Highly recommend this CD.

This message is in response to reviewer, " anointedlady Jesus is Lord." I don't know what cd you were listening to, but it could not have been Dorinda Clark-Cole "The Rose of Gospel." This cd is second to none. It is totally awsome, anointed and uplifting!! Mrs. Dorinda Clark-Cole rips it up on this cd!! She is anointed woman of God. You however are not. If you were you would have felt the anointing just flowing out from this cd. I strongly suggest you listen..( I mean truly listen with your heart)to the lyrics of this cd. I mean what on earth were you expecting? Some hip-hop, rump-shaking, b-bop music?! I mean Dorinda is a Woman of God and her music reflects such. It's called the "Anointing" which you know nothing about. Only truly anointed people are able to recognize truly anointed artists. Need I say more? Listen to this cd again so you can understand what being an " Anonted Lady" is all about. Peace.

I was disappointed with this release although I love Dorinda Clark-Cole and the other Clark Sisters. Just something amiss with this entire CD. Not sure if it was writing/lyrics, or some of the music arrangements. I liked only one song on the entire CD, which is unheard of for me with a Clark Sisters CD. However, I'm a die-hard Clark Sisters fan, so I'm still going to buy Dorinda's next one. If you are a Clark Sisters fan, maybe you can relate, but I keep waiting for a CD release from any of the Clark Sisters that would rival the perfection of Karen's "Finally" CD years back.

The songs that were written were beautiful. The backup singers held her down very well. the band just complimented her very well. Not an empty gap in any of the songs. Straight churching, and not all of this hip~ hop which takes away from the spirit.

Dorinda is definately a mighty woman of God. She's always been my favorite Clark Sister. I saw Dorinda in Atlantic City at a concert with the Jerkins, and I was truly blessed. So I had to listen to the album more in depth, and I was amazed with "I'm coming out", "You can't hurry God" and my favoirte "I'm still here". Guys I'm telling you, you can't go wrong with buying this album if u haven't bought it yet. Dorinda I love you so much.. Your music over the years has inspired me. Thanks a Million.

The debut album from the beautiful Dorinda Clark Cole is an exceptional collection of down home "Chuch" music! Isn't that what we love about Dorinda...she takes us to church. Just listen to "You Can't Take My Joy" or "Nobody Like Jesus" and tell me it doesn't feel like Sunday morning. It was refreshing to hear the Clark sisters reunite on "Show Me The Way" and even more, to hear sister Jackie(whom we rarely hear) participate with ad libs. Of course there's Twinkie - wailing and giving the "black flem" like no one else can. Love it! "It's Not Me" will have you dancing while "I'm Still Here" will have you shaking your head and closing your eyes in agreement with Dorinda's majestic voice telling you about the grace of the Lord.

Bottom line - It feels like Sunday morning! If you like good ol' gospel music, this CD will bless you.

DORINDA CLARK COLE IS A WOMAN OF GOD THAT I HAVE GROWN TO LOVE AND TO HEAR HER SINGS. HER VOICE IS LIKE AN ANGLE FROM GOD. THIS CD IS AMUST HAVE. YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH IT FROM START TO THE END. THIS CD HAS ENERGY AND THAT WHAT A LOT OF GOSPEL ARTIST NEED TO HAVE WHEN DOING A PROJECT AND DORINDA DID AN AWESOME JOB OF DING THAT ON THIS CD. THIS CD WILL BLESS YOU WHERE YOU ARE IN YOUR LIFE. "I'M STILL HERE" IS THE SONG THAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO HEAR ESPECIALLY PEOPLE IN THE GULF COAST. THIS SONG WILL MINISTER TO YOU AND YOUR SITUTION. YOU WILL JUST LOVE THIS ALBUM. ESPECIALLY ON THE SLOW SONGS AND YOU CAN'T HURRY GOD. OHHHHHHHHHHHH WHEN YOU HEAR HER YOU JUST WANT TO SHOUT. YOU WILL SEE WHY

5 out of 5 stars An Ethereal Voice That is Truly Angelic and Inspirational.......2005-08-27

Each song on this CD is comparable to a collection of priceless pearls that have been strung together to create an exquite gift. It is quite evident that this compilation of songs represent a labor of love from our psalmist, Dorinda Clark-Cole. Her personal testimony has, so to speak, been "encoded in oxide and groove."

My most favorite song of all is "No Not One." From the moment I heard it, I became absolutely convinced that her voice penetrates the highest of Heavens. Over the course of the past several years, I have played this song more times than I can count. The lyrics and music touch my innermost being. Whenever I hear the mesmerizing manner in which Dorinda sings the following section of this song, "Angel...I've got an angel watching over me...keeping me from all harm and danger...," It immediately reminds me of Psalm 91 as well as the fact that we have a Faithful Promisekeeper who will never leave nor forsake us.

This portion of the song also affects me deeply because she becomes extremely transparent when paying tribute to her mother, Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. During a brief moment, we are privileged to share in Dorinda's reminiscing about the differences in their signature styles when singing the word "angel." While listening to her share this memory and demonstrate how Dr. Mattie Moss Clark would have articulated the word "angel" in her own unique and melodious manner, we immediately recognize there is something enchanting in the resonance of Dorinda's voice that brings to life a myriad of emotions within herself as well as the listener. In a flash, Dorinda ever so generously bestows upon us a glimpse of a most cherished love shared between mother and daughter -- love that surpasses all space and time. Simultaneously, one can sense pain from the loss of her mother creeping ever so softly into the shadows of Dorinda's hauntingly beautiful voice. During the denouement of this fleeting yet precious moment, Dorinda once again encourages herself as well as the listener by reminding everyone that, no matter how we may feel or what situation we may be faced with, our joy cannot be taken away. It has been gifted to us by our Savior.

I beseech you to purchase this body of work from such an anointed artist as this. The Lord has truly showered His blessings upon Dorinda Clark-Cole and, she in turn, never fails to impress upon the listener that He is worthy to be praised!
