I love James Hall and WAP. I just got turned onto them in summer "06" and I have been hooked, I purchased "King of Glory" Janurary of this year and I still haven't put it down. This cd is even hotter I just bought it yesturday and today we went to wilmington which is 3 hrs away 4rm where I live and I listned to it the whole time it is hot. The chior vocals are so strong especially the tenors. I love all the songs especially "If he never does anything else" I kept that on repeat 4 a while. GET THIS Cd you wont be disappointed!

Long been one of my favorites, I truly appreciate the musical craftmanship James Hall brings to each of his projects. Seems very rare in Gospel music these days that artists focus to provide such stunning musical accompaniment to their projects; most of the time, it seems most of the emphasis on today's projects are on vocals with music being secondary. I'm not knocking that. Afterall, the words in a Gospel music song are most important in order to truly edify the audience and bring glory to God in a way that the listener can comprehend and participate. However, when you can get both great vocals and awesome music, it makes for a richer experience. James Hall Worshi & Praise have both. Even though they are older releases, I've got to say, this CD and their "King of Glory" CD **STAY** in my car's CD changer. They are so good, I don't intend to ever be without them...

5 out of 5 stars The Variety Of Cultural Music Styles Is AWESOME!!.......2002-11-03

I recently purchased this CD basically to have one song I needed namely "God Wants A Yes." However I was pleasantly surprised to experience the songs and various styles of Traditional & Contemporary Gospel, Jazz, Classical-Anthem, Hymns, Spirituals and yes, even some Classic 1940's "Swing."

This release clearly displays what I share with many music lovers regarding Black Gospel Music. Our Culture and Expression comes out in the various styles mentioned above and more. Thomas Dorsey was criticized in the 1920's & 1930's for taking what was considered "ragtime/hokey-tonk" music and bringing it into the "church setting." However, I too have an appreciation for all of the styles I hear on James Hall & Worship/Praise.

James and all who work with you, I salute you for doing as our Fore-Father Dorsey did and working this variety in for one of the best CDs I have heard with these attributes. Thank you.

James Hall is one of the best composers and writers in gospel music. From his first CD, "God is in Control," he has shown his maturity and musical intellect. His musical variety and selection has become much more broad and creative than the normal "church" music that many composers and artist limit themselves to. He has gone far beyond the normal spectrum of gospel to create a new illustration of gospel music (the reason for "According to James Hall-Chpt 3). He has brought us back to the forms of music that God has blessed us with and have had stolen from us (or in some ways given away) and used for other glorifications. But James Hall, along with some of the most talented writers in the New York area (such as Melvin Crispell) has brought them back to the church to glorify God (Psalms 121:1). You have some of the best musicians (such as Reggie, Eddie, John Peters,etc.). And I don't think I would be exageratting by saying you have the best tenors in gospel music. James Hall & WAP, continue to do what you are doing--despite all the talk about clarity and enunciation. Bless God whole-heartily! Let God continue to shine upon you all!

James' music is far beyond the simple mind, and he knows it. One can go to church and he/she will find choirs singing different song artists' songs. John kee, Hezakiah, and Kirk are all good but they can't touch James. He's just a bad man! From the rhythim to the choirs' horrific vibrato, his work can't be put in words. Most choirs don't sing his songs,not because they don't enjoy them, but because it requires mad rhythim and technique.
