I have this and I love it!! You'll realize how unimportant and foolish a lot of worldly issues are. "My soul has been anchored" is my testimony. And, for the record, NO ONE sings it like Douglas.

Now back in the 80's I can remember when this album first came out. On our way to church the DJ played "Unspeakable Joy", and we almost had to pull over because of the presence of God filling our souls. "Give Him The Praise" has such a funky groove to it, but the call to give Jesus the praise will have u lift your hands in submission to the Lord. "Glad That He Lifted Me" will make u pat your feet and get up and dance before Him. "My Soul Is Anchored is ont of the most "covered" songs in gospel concerts and "afternoon" services that I almost got weary of hearing it. But once you met Jesus you can identify with the singer. I recommend this cd to all gospel music lovers. I appreciate the older stuff.

This song is a testimony to me in itself. When I finally just sit down and listened to the words, and received the true message I began to shout, then cry, and shout again. If you know that your Soul is really Anchored in the Lord, then you can do all things through Christ, which strengthens you. "Though the storms keep on raging in my life, and sometimes it's hard to tell the night from day, still that hope that lies within is reassured, as I keep my eyes upon that distant shore I know He'll lead mt safely to that blesses place He has prepared, but if the storms don't cease, and if the winds keeps on blowing my soul has been anchored in the Lord!" THATS ENOUGH TO MAKE ME SHOUT RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW... YOU BETTER GET SERIOUS ABOUT THIS THANG..JESUS IS REAL!!!! AND TIME IS WINDING UP... MAKE SURE YOUR SOUL IS ANCHORED IN THE LORD AT ALL TIMES!!!!

It's amazing I used to hear this song in the clubs and on dance compilations all the time and I loved it. I recently became a christian and one day this song kept running through my head. I began to think about alot of Kim's lyrics which seem to have some very spiritual sounding themes. So I did some research, and in an article written a few years ago Kim was very adamant about her faith in God and that He inspires her lyrics. I dont think this song is about making your own joy, as one person suggested who reviewed this. It's about finding joy and strength from the source, from God. Joy that can never be taken away.
I think it's awesome that there are artists out there who are sharing their faith openly in their music, not judgemental, not ramming it down your throat, but just sharing that unspeakable joy.

Oh my Goodness this song is just the Jam!!! I mean it's the kind of song you can sip a Cosmopolitan or Apple Martini to and then..........JUST LET GO!! ---Hell,even sober it just does'nt matter!! It makes you want to lose complete control on the dance floor, If anyone is against the wall when this plays in a club they have GOT to be trippin' no doubt in my mind.

You know when you hear a song for the first time and it sends chills throughout your body... it's a great song... infact one of my ALL TIME Favorites! It is Uplifting, Peppy, Powerful, Different Fast-Paced Rolling. A DaNce Great for SURE! There is so much electricity and energy in "Unspeakable Joy" song #3 on the CD it's incredible. "Unspeakable Joy" is also kind of a cool contradiction in itself in that the LYRICS speak of JOY, yet the song has a somewhat evil beat. The BASS is the best of any song I have heard ... Dance, or otherwise. The song twists and turns in idiosyncasies, with great interludes. The Beat goes up and down. I also love the the main Lyrics: "Unspeakable Joy, as they did not give it, they cannot take it away". The song says you got to make your own JOY in life. I don't usually Dance.... but I do to this one! I give it 6 STARS out of 5 possible STARS! C. C.
