As someone who absolutely loves the Gaither Homecoming videos and concerts, this CD provides an excellent selection of wonderful Southern Gospel songs. Recorded by legendary artists from the 50's and 60's, such as Ben Speer and Jake Hess, most of these songs are classics. With the included performances by some of the today's younger stars, like Candy Christmas and Tanya Goodman Sykes, this CD would be a wonderful addition to anyone's collection. Ann Downing sounds as great today as she did thirty years ago with The Downings. Janet Paschal's angelic voice brings back memories from her early years with The Nelons. For those of us who could never get enough of that wonderful sound created by the Happy Goodmans, just listen to Rusty's daughter Tanya as she carries the torch. Of course, the real strength of this CD is the unforgettable music written by Bill Gaither, who, with fellow Gaither Vocal Band members Mark Lowry, Guy Penrod, and David Phelps, have included several memorable cuts. For anyone new to Southern Gospel music, this CD would be a great place to start.

    I appreciate having access to the old Mattie Moss Clark music of my youth. It brings back great memories and the album still has the anointing after all of this time.

    I was there in Memphis, Tennessee in 1978 at the recording of this masterpiece of worship and praise. I am glad to finally see it on CD. It was well past midnight, and the late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark was at her best. No one could make it happen like Mattie! The 1,000 plus Church of God in Christ (COGIC) International Mass Choir was singing as only they can. The Clark Sisters were defining their unique style. The audience was explosive! If you are a lover of traditional gospel live recording sessions, who must get this CD! It's awesome. Thank you Dr. Clark for such a precious memory.

    This was one of the first gospel albums I purchased back in 1980. In those days, gospel was not "so hot" accoring to secular standards, however this album is simply supurb. The late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark directs a choir over 1,000 voices. Twinkie Clarks plays organ all through the album while someone is on the drums and piano as well. Dorinda Clark delivers "If Ye Believe In God" and the Clark sisters also sang "What He's Done For Me" & "A Praying Spirit". The title cut is annointed as well. all I can say is if you miss that "church" sound on CD, i suggest you get this cd and give God the praise. I love "Solid Rock" Sung in choral traditional style.
