After more than 25 years of thrilling audiences across America with his marvelous voice and deeply moving, heart-felt versions of gospel and sacred songs, Dave Boyer is firmly established as one of America's most beloved singers of songs of faith.

The son of a minister, Dave was a hot, rising star in the world of pop music in the 1960s. He was the MC and singer at Atlantic City, New Jersey's famed 500 Club, the east coast rendezvous spot for all manner of highlife types including gangland's elite, politicians and various other high rollers. The 500 Club hosted the top artists of the day including Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and the debut of the fabled Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.

When Dave signed on at the 500 Club, he left his father's home in York, PA--and his father's lifestyle, values and commitments--to become a star. He changed his name to Joey Stevens. He was on top of the world... on the way to the big time. However, in the middle of the glitz and glamour of the nightclub life, his world caved in! Heavy drinking, a debilitating, very expensive drug habit and his promiscuous lifestyle took its toll.

He was prepared to commit suicide.

At the depth of his despair, a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ turned Dave's life around and set the course which has directed his life and his music for the last thirty-plus years. It was so long, Joey and welcome to the real world, Dave Boyer.

Dave Boyer is one in a million. I have spent two years trying to find out something about him before I was able to read his bio on here.

His music is absolutely marvelous. He has a voice that just rings with Christ-centered sincerity. I only wish there was some way I could contact this artist and express my thanks personally for the inspiration he has given us.
