Customer Reviews:
Not the best songs.......2004-11-04
I only recently have been turned on by Charles Billingsley's incredible voice and awesome vocal presentation of inspirational songs. I've seen many tv performances and I'm always amazed at his vocal deliveries and beautiful melodies. I must tell you that this cd does not do him justice! I've listened carefully to each song and none have jumped out and grabbed me as I would've hoped. This purchase has been a big disappointment. Though there are strong messages and many upbeat songs, they seem to lose power and interest before entering the choruses and the melodies seem to stray. You can easily identify the typical studio mixes (pressed out) and indicate they are quick mixes.
I do have another of his cd's on order and I hope to find some different songs that I can put on rotation. I do enjoy listening to his strong vocals but unfortunately, I cannot recommend this cd.
Marks of the Mission.......2001-12-30
I am a .... year old female and my mom gave me this CD a while back. Charles autographed it for me. I love this music. I sing it all the time and know the words to every song. He is trully an example of a role model for me and others my age.
Thank You Charles for singing and most importantly singing for Our Holy One! I recommend this for kids! Lots of catchy tunes with an inspirational message.
Marks of the Mission.......2001-07-02
I am listening while writing and the first word that comes to mind is WOW!!! I have 4 other titles from Charles Billingsley and I have to say that this is my new personal favorite. It is uplifting and helps to return my focus where it belongs. There is no doubt Charles is truely talented and in all his music he remains faithful to his belief in God helping to reach others through songs along the way.
Marks of the Mission.......2001-01-17
I have to say that this title is very inspiring. Marks of the Mission is especially touching since I also can imagin the reaction in heaven when Jesus returned with nail-scarred hands. I hhave found this title very enjoyable and praise inspiring.
Catchy but could be better..........2001-01-11
Several of the songs on this CD are quite enjoyable, withcatchy hooks I find myself singing long after listening. The titletrack "Marks of the Mission", "Holy One", and"Left of Nowhere" all have this effect. "I Will SeeYou" is the best of these, joyously anticipating the day allbelievers yearn for.
Musically, the arrangements are somewhatconventional. Many of the songs have a dampened, predictable style. Some do break away, and they stand out: "Freed" is movingand meaningful, and "Holy One" and "I Will SeeYou" inspire praise. The rest, however, merely have the feel ofa talented performer doing just that -- performing.
