I grew up listening to about all the r&b music was to hear, when I heard "where did the love go? I thought this can't be a gospel song it was too beautiful and it talked about the very thing we all may have struggled with. Then I heard the whole CD and was taken by the harmony and sound, then track # 10 came on and I used that song for my wedding theme beacuse it sang about the relationship one has with each other but then turns it to why there is one to have with Jesus. This is a blessed CD to have in your collection. i still play it often.

A lackluster "Affair".......2005-02-26

I bought this when it first came out because there wasn't very much gospel music with a relatively up-to-date R&B sound being made in 1993. Revisiting it now in 2005, not much of this still sounds good.

The group, which would go on to shrink down to the brother and sister core of Da'dra and Steve Crawford, here also includes Mary Tiller and Nee-C Walls, and all the members contribute at least one track.

Best tracks here are the uptempo "God's Personality" (a #23 Christian radio hit), written by Tiller, as she asks God to help her respond with grace when enemies attack. "Don't Sweat It" reminds us God is in control. "Mighty Long Way" is an "Amazing Grace" rewrite.

The low spots include ballad "Love Me (The Way you DO)" where Steve crawford wrecks a nice melody by over-emoting. "Forever Friends" is a banal lyric that's been done to death in CCM circles. The continually shifting meter sinks "Where did the Love Go?"

I would pass on this one...if you want an Anointed CD, look towards a later release like "The Call".

The best songs on this album is God's Personality, the Title Track, He Knows, The Other Side, Don't Sweat It and Friends Forever. Considering it is the debut album and it was made in 1993, I think it was a fine effort.

Debut album is cool........1998-11-03

Although many people do not know that Anointed had this debut album, i've added it to my collection and it is cool. The best songs on here are God's Personality, the title track, He Knows, The Other Side, Friends Forever and definately Don't Sweat It, with Steve's awesome voice. If you've heard Under the Influence or the Call, Spiritual Love Affair is a must have.
