More Tha A Little Unusual.......2003-12-13
I have listened to Wayne seriously since 1986. Musical interests for me in the past have included everything from Iggy Popp to Sex Pistols to Tangerine Dream. I've always been stirred by Waynes voice and lyrical content, but have not been sure if he was just synthesized as far as background sound. I have been a sound man for several bands, and am pretty critical as to sound and talent. I recently saw Wayne perform live with no accompanying musicians, and was astounded. He blew away 98% of the rock musicians I've seen for talent. In fact, I'd put him in the category of people like Rory Gallagher, and Roy Buchanan for sheer talent. This guy can write, sing and play several instruments like a virtuoso. Oh yes he has many good cd's, this one included. I personally am found of his release from the year 2000, with the tune, "More Than A Little Unusual".
Field of Souls - An Essay on Grace.......2003-05-28
I was self-lured into buying this album when I saw the song list and "Class of '95" caught my eye. I too am a member of the Class of '95 (PhD, USF). Little did I know what was in store for me when I innocently picked up this CD.
"Class of 95" led the assault...reminding me of the past and present that He had brought me through since I'd started college in the mid-80s, then grad school. Wow, it's been a long journey, and He's been there every step of the way.
"Rock Steady", "One Time in Each Forever", remind me of what grace is about (God's mercy, and His unmerited favor towards us), and what it's NOT about (such as my feelings about life or about myself). The title cut reminds us that He uses us in different ways, different places, different times of His choosing, not of our own.
Then come the heavy guns... "If I were You" and "Don't You Remember" remind me of how different God views us and our sin, as compared to how WE view them. If it were not for that difference, we would all be without hope, without eternity. That difference is what God's grace is all about. "Every Waking Moment" is an example of a person who has come to understand that difference, and what it is about. ("...and my attempts at perfection are weak/I am lost, but for Your grace.")
The final blow: "Blessed Are". For me, it was almost as though Jesus Himself were speaking through this song...so far through these songs, I have seen traits that I should NOT have if I am trying to show the same grace to others as God would have us show ...now, let's sit down and look at some of the traits I SHOULD have... "Blessed Are" is a lyrically and musically beautiful "embellishment" of Jesus' own beatitudes (see Matthew 5). Guaranteed flood-gate opener for me. It has become my own "anthem" to grace.
Please - if you want to learn what God's grace is all about...buy this album!
CLASS OF '95 RULZ!.......2002-09-12
Wayne Watson's "The Class Of '95" is so good! I'm a 1995 graduate at West Mesquite High School from Mesquite, TX! This song is dedicated for the graduates all over the country who graduated that year and have remembered the past and go start a great job in the future! CLASS OF '95 RULZ BABY!

WOW! Watson is Awesome.......2002-01-30
I recently purchased this album and I highly recommend it to you. As a Christian I am always looking for a hip sound that's fun to sing with, but most importantly speaks to my heart and helps me to worship. Field Of Souls has it all! Wayne Watson is similar to Stephen Curtis Chapman in sound but with a different but equally good style of song.
"Field of Souls" is a weak effort by Wayne Watson........1999-05-25
Recently, I had the great misfortune of hearing Wayne Watson's "Field of Souls". I guess I would describe his style as religious syntha-crap. Watson has provided American listeners with one of the corniest sounding collages of computer generated unpleasantness that I have heard to this day. Watson has the artistic integrity of N' Sync on crack, and the talent to match.

PLEASE DON'T EXPECT A "MOVING CITIES"!!!.......2004-11-11
Veering away from the uptempo funk of the impressive "Moving Cities", Faze Action slows the beat down tremendously on the their latest release "Broad Souls". This time full of sexy vocals from male vocalist (a rare thing on electronica albums) Andre Espuet and blissful orchestration from the brethren producers Simon and Robin Lee, "Broad Souls" sounds like a cross between Air, Zero 7 and Alpha. Not as daring as material from the aforementioned groups, "Broad Souls" still holds its own as a pretty satisfying and emotional downtempo album.
LAME DOG!.......2004-08-24
BROAD SOULS: I'd really hoped for a return to form with BROAD SOULS. Back in 1997, brothers Rob and Simon Lee put together a promising, if fairly flawed debut LP, PLANS & DESIGNS, marrying carefully orchestrated string arrangements and a nice line in retro disco and dancefloor beats. Their follow up, 1999's MOVING CITIES took a step in the wrong direction with some second-rate song writing, but the instrumental cuts managed to at least keep pace with earlier successes like IN THE TREES and ASTRAL PROJECTION. BROAD SOULS arrives five years later, making an immediate visual impact with gorgeous, delicately etched cover art that seems to suggest something ethereal and magical inside...But what you actually get is Hootie & The Blowfish for discerning coffee-shoppers. I can't quite stoop to a one-star rating, because there's occasional evidence of positive musical progression here - but the brothers Lee have made a staggering miscalculation in retaining the services of vocalist, Andre Espuit, whose voice is the aural equivalent of brushed suede: dull, soft and shapeless. Making matters worse by far, the lyrics (mostly written by the Lees, I believe) are uniformly uninspired, and at times utterly embarrassing. I'm just not sure of the target audience here, but I can categorically say that it's not me. Hootie fans might be pleasantly surprised, I suppose, but why would they buy a Faze Action LP? The truth is that there's nothing ethereal or magical about BROAD SOULS, nothing even remotely dynamic, challenging or forward-thinking at all. In short, it's just rubbish, and I regret every penny that I spent on it.
Third strike, and Faze Action are out.
